What an awesome combination!

I have been an avid listener of the Jane Yellow Rock series, but after listening to this combination of supernatural crimefighters, I have bought the C.E. Murphy series, too, and I am looking forward to getting to know JoAnne better. Thanks, Faith Hunter and C.E. Murphy, for doing this combination story. And the narrators did a great job of bringing the characters together. The only reason I subtracted a star is for the audio, which was bad. Khristine Hvam was much louder than Gabra Zackman, and it made for difficult listening, as one was always either too quiet or too loud.

Yellowrock & Walkingstick in NOLA

I've listened to the Walker Paper series and the Jane Yellowrock series and this was a fun crossover. I loved seeing our strong butt-kicking heroines' impressions of and interactions with each other, the mix of magics was intriguing, and I enjoyed hearing each character's voice. For future crossovers of this sort, narrator collaboration on people and place names would make for a better listen; the mismatched pronunciations of the oft said "Amaury" were a distraction. All in all, worth a listen, though, especially if you're already a fan.

Needs Better Editing

Only because I've very much enjoyed Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series and because I also very much like the narrator who's voice IS Jane Yellowrock, I listened to the whole 3+ hrs of this audio book. While, yeah, I liked the storyline, the editing wasn't very good. You could tell where the voices were dubbed in and Gabra Zackman is not the same caliber as Kristine Hvam, which made the dubbing more obvious. But hey, it was only 3hrs of listening while I worked and still a good story.

Disappointing

I'm a fan of the Jane Yellowrock series, and found another "only from Audible" Jane Yellowrock novella to be better than I expected (usually short "only from Audible" works are total crap). I was quite disappointed by this entry, though. I get the appeal of a crossover between two series that seem similar, sharing the fan bases of both. Unfortunately, this doesn't have much else to offer. The difference between the voices of the narrators, and in particular, the quality and sound of their audio, is jarring. The story is uninteresting. I have no interest in trying out the Walker Papers series after this.

Good story but annoying narration

I love Khristine Hvam's voice and narration of Jane Yellowrock. I like Gabra Zackman's voice also, but it was obvious that there was a break in the process somewhere. Hvam/Jane have been pronouncing the primary villain's name in this story the same for all the Yellowrock books -- a French pronunciation. Yet Zackman/Joann pronounce the name completely differently, with different emphasis and vowel pronunciations. Not a major thing, but distracting when listening. Otherwise the story was good and I enjoyed it.
