Andrea Owen—a nationally sought-after life coach—crystallizes what’s behind several invisible, undermining habits, from catastrophizing and people-pleasing to listening to the imposter complex or to one’s inner critic. Powerfully on the mark, the chapters are short and digestible, nicely bypassing weighty examinations in favor of punch points of awareness.

What does “Give them Lala” mean? It means giving the truest, most honest version of yourself to the world. It means being authentic, bold, adventurous, and having an unapologetic approach to life. Hollywood is where Lauren Burningham, aspiring actress from Utah, fully embraced her alter-ego Lala Kent, entrepreneur, entertainer, and film and television star. Some say she’s rude; Lala says she claps back. Some say she’s too bold; Lala knows she’s reality TV gold. Truth is, without giving them Lala, Lauren could never have become the woman she is today.

Publisher's Summary
A year and a half into our marriage, I found out my husband had been having an affair with a 19-year-old for six months. I filed for divorce and left.
Two weeks later I met a man, and we fell madly in love. It was a fairy-tale romance for a month and a half, and he convinced me to join him on a romantic month-long vacation in Italy. Forty-eight hours before we were supposed to get on a plane, he told me he needed to go by himself. I was devastated. So, I had a decision to make. Either stay home and be heartbroken, or go travel Europe for a month by myself. And staying at home heartbroken? F%*k. That.
What does a woman do when her life has fallen apart and her heart has been ripped out and stepped on twice in two months? She goes on a wild adventure, makes some bad decisions, and does a sh*t load of soul searching. But most importantly? She finds out how to love . . . herself.

Shallow but still a fun ride
I travelled a lot in my life for both work and fun totalling approximately 15 years but she packed a lot of experiences in to that 1 month. I think this is a case of a young woman that is living well and as far as I can tell on schedule with life’s lessons (so as I am 51 and well-travelled found the events rather predictable but totally ok) the only difficulty I had with this ride was the painful reminder of how much we anchor our feelings in others’ behaviours! Oh so painful but completely understandable. I wish her well and hope she joins the evolved group that is able to truly live life on her own terms…which I’m is not within her grasp until she reads more, falls down more, and reads more again (or skip all that and just work on alignment)
She may enjoy Abraham Hicks’ teachings and it may help to accomplish what she is reaching for in her life. Good effort!

Was an okay listen.
This book was okay if you just want a really light listen. It was like listening to someone in high school recount a story. Gabrielle comes across as very immature, self centered and drama driven. The best parts of the book were the descriptions of the places she visited.

Life changing!!!
Gabrielle tells her story at such a raw, unapologetic, personal level. I felt instantly connected to her and her experiences. She had me laughing out loud so hard my abs hurt after and crying real tears. Having the book read by her adds such a personal touch. I’ve been telling everyone to read/listen to Eat, Pray, #FML- even a guy on a dating app- before I deleted said app to enjoy my singleness! I finished this book feeling inspired, planning my own trip, and looking at my own life in a totally different way! Forever grateful to Gabrielle for sharing this book with the world. 1000000/10 would recommend.

Horrible
I usually don’t write reviews but I have to in this case. This is shallOw, yet pretentious and self~serving. The author bills it as traveling “alone” to grow lol. She is on her phone and text the whole time, as well as cramming her days with pointless “romantic” and party encounters with people she has known a matter of days. She is allegedly so distraught over being dumped by a man who claimed to “love” her after 6 weeks, who she gets involved with 2 weeks after leaving her husband. She whines about it constantly. The man in question appears to be bipolar and none of his actions are about her ~ yet this possibility never occurs to her. There are no moments of beautiful writing, of being in the moment, or of being “with” herself. The author is lost. One of the worst, most uninspired books I’ve ever read/ listened to.

Wanted to love this.
I never leave reviews but this book was painful to get through. Each chapter was repetitive. Girl travels to new country, girl meets strangers & gets drunk with them & has intense feelings for one of them & then sleeps with them. Every. Freaking. Chapter. I kept hoping it would get better and that the ending would be worth the painstaking read. Not at all. The beginning was my favorite part. Relatable, raw and has this strong essence of girl power and women independence. But the other 75% was a huge eye roll. It was also very hard to listen to her voice.

Title is best part of the book
The story of an actress married to a cheating husband who then immediately falls in love with another man who wakes up one morning no longer in love with her. The book is not a journey of self-discovery. It’s her telling every how she was hurt. She makes lots of stupid decisions but doesn’t ever realize her role in anything. It is all done to her. There are no moments of discovery. And if I hear “thought onion” again in my life I just might scream.

The mindless ramblings of a self indulgent Cali girl
The only reason the performance got 2 stars is because I like when the author also narrates. This book is awful all the way around. You know that friend you have that insists on rehashing, verbatim, every minute detail of every argument she has with her S.O.; desperately grasping for your validation that her victim mentality is indeed warranted? Yeah... that’s the author. You know that friend that thinks everyone wants to hear every about single word that is spoken between her and her love interest (text messages included), so she can prove to the world that she IS worthy and lovable and you should definitely be jealous? Yeah... also the author.
I’m maybe 2-3 hours into listening to this book and I am exchanging it today. I thought it might get better, but I’ve given up hope. It’s nothing but the author trying to convince the listener of her victimhood and strength simultaneously; while also reading text conversation after text conversation, sprinkling a flirty giggle (and the f bomb) in every now and then. Ugh... I just can’t.

By biggest regret in life is hearing this book
She is basically just reading from a diary with poor vocabulary. She gives you the play-by-play of every conversation she has with every person she meets. Every other word is a swear word. I'm realizing "a journey of self-discovery" means there's no plot. I was hoping this book would be about traveling Europe by yourself but it turned into stories about drinking and sleeping with multiple men while being mad that her greif-stricken boyfriend needs time alone. And the moral of the story was "love yourself." This person should not have the title of "best-selling author next to their name.

The ALL TIME WORST
This was actually painful to my ears, in every way possible, the story, her voice, the overly self absorbed obvious self adoration in the most obnoxious way! Not only do I say “don’t waste your money” I would say “don’t even read it if it was given to you for free” it is actually that painful. The only reason I made it through is because I one of those nut cases that if I buy it I feel like I owe it to myself to start and finish it. Ugh...HORRIBLE.

Insufferable
I could state a hundred things but the only thing worth typing is: this book gives me hope that I too can write a bestseller.
