Story
We tend to think of meditation as a formal practice we block time out for each day. But what if every moment of your life was your meditation? For Eckhart Tolle, meditation shouldn't be approached as a chore or a means to an end. Rather, meditation is something that you live. "The aim of meditation," states Eckhart, "is that it eventually becomes your normal state of consciousness." Essential Meditations with Eckhart Tolle points the way toward this quiet, constant state of Presence - where practice gives way to the realization of your innermost identity.

Story
To be human is to suffer - and yet, according to Eckhart Tolle, all of these painful moments contain an opportunity for awakening. In Transforming Suffering into Peace, this celebrated teacher offers a new perspective on the ego and what he terms "the pain-body" - all the accumulated emotional wounds that follow us through life. Though the pain-body can easily rise up and hijack our consciousness with unpleasant emotions, in this program Eckhart reveals a hopeful truth - by turning the light of awareness on our suffering, that suffering becomes a powerful gateway to Presence.

I Always Return Back to this Masterpiece
I have read and listened to several books/audiobooks by Eckhart, but this is by far my favourite. It encompasses so much wisdom that words don't do it justice. As Eckhart would say, the words are just "pointers" or "labels" anyway. I do listen to other audiobooks as part of my Audible subscription, however, I always find a way to work this audiobook back into the rotation - I use it as a reminder of what is truly important to me, because it's so easy to get sidetracked with daily life. I have listened to it at least a dozen times and always find something new that resonates with me every time. I just happened to take it out of the library on CD, several years ago. One person pointed out that "it wasn't for them" and I understand that comment. I do think that anyone can extract value from this material but it does have more impact if you are already down your own path to spiritual wisdom - the words will certainly be more meaningful. I highly recommend purchasing this Audiobook. It starts out a little slow and you may be wondering what the heck all of these reviewers are talking about - but just go with it, and you will start to understand where we are coming from... Dave

The Essence of Eveything
I found this the most accessible of all recordings or readings of Eckhart Tolle's work. It is a beautifully satisfying work, whose sense or should I say, essence, is lyrically simple because it is just that - Essence.
Its message transcends the mere sounds that make it up. It is conveyed with humour, peace and a simple beauty. It embodies Eckhart's central themes, that Life is not Form, that each of us is not the Self, and the Oneness that is the heart of everything is, bewilderingly enough, right here now, in Presence.

the stillness
I am in the process of reading all of Eckhart's work. I listen to his audiobooks over and over again, in the car, on walks, at the gym, etc. and I find the stillness, the presence, in everything. When I was 5 during great turmoil in my family life I had a realization of the Now but since have lost touch except for brief moments, usually during physical challenges like sailing to Mexico or riding my bicycle 400 miles.
Eckhart Tolle's work has made those moments accessible anytime, anywhere. and has changed my life. Or rather, has helped me realize my Life was there already.

Different Tolle
Would you listen to Eckhart Tolle's Findhorn Retreat again? Why?
I will listen to it over and over again, until I gain all of the tid bits of wisdom there.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Eckhart Tolle's Findhorn Retreat?
learning that in loving someone, we love the formlessness of them and the seeing yourself in them (the formlessness of yourself) When you focus on the moment and hear a bird, take in that moment without putting a label on it, such as
What insight do you think you’ll apply from Eckhart Tolle's Findhorn Retreat?
Staying focused on the present moment will help me to be able to not be stressed, have already put my painbody away, but it comes up from time to time through my husband but we both recognize each others pain body and work on it. His wisdom and teaching is deep but if you get it, you will become enlightened. If you are open for change and ready to get rid of past hurts and stop thinking insensent thinking. this might not be the first read of Tolle's, this is for someone that already recognizes the pain-body and living in the now. I recommend if you are a total newbie, read Wayne Dyer's Excuses begone, that book is like a baby step book into being able to read and understand Eckhart Tolle's teachings at least for me that is what had to be. With Dyers book I was able to put past hurts, emotions that I held on to away for good and it was like a light switch. then started Listening to Tolle, I started with The power of Now, then listened to some of his smaller books Living a life of inner peace is one of my all time favorites, then living the liberated life and being free from pain-body. I could go on because I love all of his work, it is life changing and I get it! I hope this is helpful for anyone that wants to live a peaceful and kinder world.

Life altering
The teachings presented in all of Eckhart's work are life changing. I have been known to be one of the biggest skeptics on the planet, and never thought anyone had an original idea when it comes to spirituality. I stand corrected now. I can only hope in some way, many will be drawn to and can learn this profound way of viewing the world.

A Moment of Enlightenment
I experienced a moment of true awakening while listening to this recording several years ago. The voice in my head left me and I was left to perceive my bedroom in its true state with no judging mind. It was pure bliss. Then within just a few moments my "little me" came rushing back in. But I can never unsee what I have seen. Thank you Eckhart.
