Story
It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

Story
When I first encountered Ford Donovan, I had no idea who he was...well, other than the obvious. Young, gorgeous, successful, smart. Did I mention young? If I did, it bears repeating. Ford Donovan was too young for me. Let’s back up to how it all started. My best friend decided I needed to start dating again. So, without my knowledge, she set up a profile for me on a popular dating site - one that invited men ages 21 to 27 to apply for a date.

Story
The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

Story
Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

Story
It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I'd never been able to forget - even though he so easily forgot about me - and call him. Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you've had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless prank call. Instead I went off on him - unloading 13 years of pent-up emotions. I didn't think he'd call me back.

Finding a good roommate through a classified ad isn’t as easy as it sounds. I was starting to lose hope. Until a knock at my door came, and God answered my prayers. Except...uh...wrong prayer, God. I’d definitely requested the big guy find me a drop-dead gorgeous man on more than one occasion...just not as my roommate. Declan Tate talked me into interviewing him anyway. While he was amusing and charismatic, I wouldn’t have been comfortable living with a man, so I regretfully declined. Then, cupcakes showed up at my door.

We met in the least likely of places. It started out innocently enough. I was “ScreenGod”, and she was “Montana”, but of course those weren’t our actual names, just the virtual cloaks we hid behind. Logging in at night and talking to her was my escape - my sanctuary. Her real name was Eden, I’d soon come to find out. From the first time we connected online, I found myself transfixed. She was an addiction. At first, we knew nothing about each other’s real identities...and she was adamant that we keep things that way.

It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

The day I showed up to Dax Moody’s sprawling home, I had no idea what was coming. As a traveling massage therapist, I was used to entering the houses of strangers. What I didn’t realize was that he would be younger than I’d imagined, single, stunningly gorgeous, and mysterious.

I'm writing this letter because it's highly doubtful I'll ever garner the courage to say this to your face. So, here goes. We're totally wrong for each other. You're the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview. Well, technically, I’d met him 20 minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment. I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut. As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss. Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought.... Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.

My planned trip for two unexpectedly turned into a trip for one. Rather than let my breakup get me down, I packed my bags and decided a week at a luxury resort was just what I needed. But one calamity after the next, and suddenly I was stuck without a hotel room, along with a few hundred other people. It looked like my fancy vacation was about to turn into me sleeping on the hotel lobby floor. Until I overheard a gorgeous man pretending to be someone he wasn’t in order to steal a reservation from a guest who hadn’t shown up yet.

Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the suitcase exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark. He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. So what did I do to repay him for his kindness? I waited until he was in the shower, then ghosted him.

Publisher's Summary
A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland.
The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.
Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all.
Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated. Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn't really available for rent. I was swindled out of ten grand.
The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he'd let me stay until I found a new place. I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn't help giving him a piece of my mind. I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.
The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages. The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing. And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

Sizzling & Entertaining...with a lie of omission
This is a slow burn romance that is entertaining throughout. The sex scenes are sizzling hot. I knocked one star off my rating due to the hero's omission = lie regarding who his latest sexual encounter was with and when it occurred. When the premise of the book is building an honest lasting healthy relationship and that occurs in the book it's always a turn off for some of us listeners.

I enjoyed the book, Vi always delivers but the narration did not. The female narrator was excellent as always but I found the male narrator super hard to listen to, especially when he did the female parts.

Happy "Gotcha" Day!
I love coming across a "new to me" author who not only impresses me with a WONDERFUL, well written story, but can hook me with just one story and Vi Keeland did just that! WOW! This was a fun, feel good romance, with a solid plot, and ticked off everything I love in a good audio! I had a BLAST listening too this one! Kudos Vi!
Drew Jagger has become one of my favorite characters. He was complex with all the typical attributes sexy, hot, confident, and arrogant; however, he was also caring, vulnerable and has a teasing personality. All his one-liners were hilarious! I liked his actions were justified by his past and everything he sees and does on a daily basis. You really understood his motives.
Poor Emerie Rose had me cracking up with all her dumb luck! She was so sweet, had a heart of gold and only focused on bringing out the best of everyone; however, she could be a little naïve at times. These two were polar opposites but had a magnetic attraction that pulled them together. He's the divorce lawyer, and she's the marriage counselor. They were a hilarious match!
Their relationship evolved naturally; it wasn't forced, rushed or instant. Not only was their sexual relationship developed but also their friendship. These two went from being strangers to friends then lovers. Vi did an amazing job building their relationship, off the charts chemistry and sexual tension between the characters. The sex scenes were HOT & STEAMY!!!
The writing blew me away! The story had a great flow, the dialogue was clever, witty and had a realistic feel, and each scene had the right amount of description. The reader is not bogged down with too many details.
Andi Arndt and Joe Arden's performance was outstanding! They did an amazing job with all the dialogue between the characters.
Solid five star story and performance! Well worth a credit!

My first Vi Keeland book
Would you consider the audio edition of Egomaniac to be better than the print version?
The performance by Joe Arden and Andi Arndt was superb! They really brought the characters to life in realistic and convincing matter.
If you’ve listened to books by Vi Keeland before, how does this one compare?
This was my first Vi Keeland book. As a guy trying to expand my literary horizons, I was somewhat disappointed by the storyline of the book. I felt that the character development was extremely lopsided. The male character (Drew Jagger) is complex, multifaceted, and exhibits a wide emotional range. By contrast, the female character (Emerie Rose) is consistently portrayed as a damsel in distress (with a doctorate degree). A good 75 percent of the storyline focuses on Emerie Rose being rescued or protected in some way. By the first quarter of the book, I could predict her misfortunes and even her responses. The author seemed to give all the emotional depth to Drew Jagger, which would be fine if the book was solely about him and not a romance novel.
What about Joe Arden and Andi Arndt ’s performance did you like?
See above.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed a lot more than I expected. Some aspects of the book took a more serious tone. These moments were mostly related to Drew Jagger's past.

A Must Read... five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love these two narrators so much. I didn't know where the story was gonna lead but quickly fell in love with the characters and cried when I thought they wouldn't end up together. The story is well written and perfectly narrated. Like any good written romance novel there is a HEA. 😊 A must read!!!!

AMAZING - FUNNY - WARM - HOT
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I sure would. This one made you smile, giggle, blush, get warm fuzzies, have a little heartbreak then wrap up to an awesome ending.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Egomaniac?
Love the outstanding warrant, ice skating, and chemistry between the two.
Which character – as performed by Joe Arden and Andi Arndt – was your favorite?
Both - I have many books read by both of them and they always do an awesome job.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Get ready to laugh, cry and feel your way to love.
Any additional comments?
I think I am going to start this one over again. Vi Keeland once again blew it out of the park.

4.5 Egomaniac Stars
What a feel good book, it has the dirty mixed with a heavy dose of sweet. Oh and a bit of an arrogant as-mole.. ;) You know what I was trying to say
But it works and this book is all kinds of sweet and sexy just the kind of book you expect from this author.
Drew, Drew, Drew. I wasn't sure about him at first I thought boy this guy is a real…. ----
And well he is! But he isn't a mean ----. So I started to really like him.
Emery this poor girl had me laughing, she was funny and didn't even really have to do anything but be herself. I loved that. I also really liked that even though life was shoveling --- toward her she took it in stride. She didn't get all weepy.
Together these too have the right kind of sexual chemistry, the banter heck they have it all. I loved the back and forth it was witty and not overdone.
I also lovvvveeeed the narrations then again I love anything Andi narrates she has a ways of being each character to life in a way not all narrators can. And Joe well just listen to his voice…enough said. :D
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

A SWEET & HUMOROUS FEEL GOOD ROM COM
When small town Psychologist Emerie Rose got swindled into renting office space in Park Avenue for her Marriage Guidance Practice only to find out that it was already leased to a handsome egomaniac Divorce Attorney named Drew Jagger she thought she'd hit rock bottom. However more problems and shame was waiting for Emerie at the Police station but instead of leaving her to sort out her own mess (as his mind said he should've done) Drew took her under his wing and came up with a plan.
Drew's short-term plan was simple.. they could share his office space - but the more time they spend together helping one another, sharing late night takeaways, having flirty witty banter and heated arguments the more their sizzling sexual attraction built. And the closer they got the harder it became to keep their hands off each other.. until the day they both gave in to lust. It was just meant to be sex.. but somewhere along the way it became a whole lot more.. until the day it wasn't - the day Drew broke Emerie's heart.
Drew had a bitch of an ex and shared custody of a sweet 7 yr old son and Emerie had thought she was in love with Baldwin her male best friend (and fellow tenant) whom she'd crushed on since her College years and had come to New York to be with. But Baldwin never acknowledged Emerie's obvious interest, dated a host of women and if you snooze you lose which he quickly discovered and tried to fix. Meanwhile Emerie's heart had been given to Drew.. but he was about to make a heartbreaking decision and nothing would be the same again.. now would it eventually turn out to be the worst or best decision of his life??
A happy feel-good romance between a likeable strong-willed, naive, sassy and clever heroine who believes marriages can be saved and a dirty talking, sexy, sarcastic, charming, loyal hero who intimately knew the bitter taste of a bad marriage and earnt his living by legally destroying them. And yet, despite their obvious differences, they find the perfect partner for themselves in each other.. by moulding and bending for one another, for a little boy, for love.. and for a sweet HEA.
Worth a credit? Yes - Vi Keeland has done it again.. she's given us a 5* contemporary romance that'll make you smile, make you frown, make you sigh with frustration and make you giddy with happiness. Her words morph and her characters breathe as this very entertaining and enjoyable dual POV love story comes alive thanks to two awesome narrators.
