Publisher's Summary

A spellbinding reimagining of the story of Elektra, one of Greek mythology’s most infamous heroines, from Jennifer Saint, the author of the beloved international best seller Ariadne.

Three women, tangled in an ancient curse.

When Clytemnestra marries Agamemnon, she ignores the insidious whispers about his family line, the House of Atreus. But when, on the eve of the Trojan War, Agamemnon betrays Clytemnestra in the most unimaginable way, she must confront the curse that has long ravaged their family.

In Troy, Princess Cassandra has the gift of prophecy, but carries a curse of her own: No one will ever believe what she sees. When she is shown what will happen to her beloved city when Agamemnon and his army arrives, she is powerless to stop the tragedy from unfolding.

Elektra, Clytemnestra, and Agamemnon’s youngest daughter, wants only for her beloved father to return home from war. But can she escape her family’s bloody history, or is her destiny bound by violence, too?

Great! Definitely Worth a read for sure but…

If your expecting something epic like Circe (my absolute favourite of the genre) or even Ariadne (this authors last book which I really enjoyed) well this is kind of different. It’s very good but I’ve got some mixed feelings on how the different narratives were done. I feel like some of the stories were not “complete” for me for lack of a better description. The periods in some of the stories in some instances felt kind of rushed as a result and not nearly enough depth given. Too much unexplained or not convincing. Apollo for example (Without elaborating).. Just my opinion though.

To be fair, overall I REALLY enjoyed so many parts of this book! Without giving away spoilers, there are some very heart wrenching and exciting “edge of your seat” kind of moments that make up for the books shortcomings in deeper story telling. I think this writer is going to continue to hone her craft and the next book she writes is going to be absolutely 5 star amazing.

I’d love to see her do a story maybe of Medea or Hecate..or both together! But not more then two. And there’s plenty of interesting material with either for a very fascinating read. I just didn’t like the multiple narratives because I felt like it took away from each one. It’s hard to do each one enough justice unless this book was much bigger. Overall though, great read and definitely recommend it.
