Publisher's Summary

I was known as the traitor's daughter.

When I was five years old, my father was tortured, branded with the letter Z, then beaten and left for dead. The grueling punishment for his crime was a reminder to all others who dared threaten the Russian's reign.

I was the young girl left behind. A living piece of the traitorous puzzle the Russian leader tried so diligently to ignore - until I grew up. No longer could he deny how much my existence had always been intertwined with his. And in order to survive the life I was thrown into, I was forced to learn my place inside of it.

Vlad Zalesky was a tyrant to the lost. I hated him.

He was a terror of mass destruction. I was afraid of him.

He was a tormentor of the weak. I wanted only to hide from him.

But not far beneath the venomous man's outward indifference was something else. Vlad Zalesky carried secrets of unrestrained burden. I wanted to know those secrets. And because of the decisions I made, someone in our family had to pay.

No. Just no.

Standard age gap romance. I never felt the love the main male lead had for the female lead. He was just a control freak and an ass. Manipulated her when she was sad saying if she didn’t sleep with him then he would find someone else. She was 21 and never did experienced life. She was kept in a house with a man that killed her father. I don’t care how old a person is they would hate that person forever. I doubt she would fall in love with him. And it wasn’t realistic how the son was okay with this relationship she was 5 years older than he was and his father was old enough to have a 16 year old son. I don’t think the story actually told us his age but old enough to have a 16 year old son. She was 5 when they met and he was already in the family business so 16+. Her father being his first kill I would say 16 would be a good guess. So 11 years between the two or more.

More in the story. Male lead was just a flat out ass. He never explained himself because he didn’t feel he needed to. Your dealing with a 21 year old they have questions. They want to understand. Plus he always talked about how he kept the women out of the business. So how would they know any better if they went and did something you didn’t like. Duh. Explain why. He just used manipulation and bullying to get his way. I didn’t feel anything coming from the male lead through the book with the female lead I only felt it in the scenes with his son.

I almost stopped listening a few times but I hate stopping things half way though even if I don’t like it. I would not recommend.
