Lordy how I wish they would make a good movie out of these books... The writing really makes you picture scenes and characters in your mind and is fully immersive. The story could easily lean towards being boring and drawn out but it successfully manages to avoid that somehow! I really loved this book.. And the new antagonist is one of the best bad guys (girl) I have come across in the story.. Truly creepy and imposing!

Can't wait to get into the next one.

Performance wise I actually forgot it was only one person doing all voices.. Does an excellent job of switching up voices for characters without sounding campy.

Doesn't quite live up to Hyperion, but not much could. Still an excellent continuation. Stands alone from previous books in the series...familiar setting, very different story

Very good science fiction

The two stories are very different in many ways but the writing is the same. Endymion follows a few characters more closely while Hyperion told multiple interwoven tales. Both are good, they are just different. The narrator is the same as from the Fall of Hyperion, so he gives the audiobook a very similar feel.

If you enjoyed Hyperion, you will like Endymion.

this novel has moved me to tears several times over the years. 3rd time audio playthrough 8th time reading it.

Far less if any at all of the first two books gore and violence and sex that I found unappealing. This one seems more mature. Love it

Great narration

Books 3 and 4 are awesome. Book 3 introduces new characters and almost stands apart from 1&2, except that those are necessary for background. Don't let the thought of familiarizing yourself with new characters cause you hesitation, as this book becomes a real page-turner very quickly (well, audiobook equivalent).

These characters are excellently developed through an increasingly intense and captivating story. I love that Rahl is such a normal person, so imperfect, so much like ourselves. I also love the girl's child-like wonder and delight, coupled with mystical wisdom only hinted at in this book (a main theme in the next).

The story is basically one big mad dash, but with bits and pieces of background information fitting in and growing along the way to leave the impression of awesome forces at work over huge time and space and beyond time and space, all working towards conflicting goals surrounding our heros and their adventure.

I think the first two books are really like a set-up for the third and fourth. Listening to the series for the second time, I was basically waiting for this part of the series, where things start getting really cool.

loved it. not a struggle at all. this continuation of the story only enthralled me more and I can't get enough of it. the originality honesty boldness keep me going. bring on the next book.

this is one of the best science fiction I have read . so rich I. details so interwoven and I could not stop reading it 20 years ago. now I can't stop listening to it
