Story
It’s not always easy to tell when you’re dealing with a narcissist. One day they draw you in with their confidence and charisma, the next they gaslight you, wreck your self-confidence, and leave you wondering, What could I have done differently? As Dr. Ramani Durvasula reveals in It's Not You, the answer is: absolutely nothing. Just as a tiger can’t change its stripes, a narcissist won’t stop manipulating and invalidating you. To heal in the aftermath of their abuse and protect yourself from future harm, you first have to accept that you are not to blame.

If, in the same breath, it breaks your heart to even consider leaving them because you can't imagine life without them, then I can understand that feeling too - because I was trauma bonded to my abusive ex.

The Human Magnet Syndrome: The Codependent Narcissist Trap is a complete rewrite of Ross's first book. Ross provides a more explicit rendering of The Human Magnet Syndrome, that includes new theories, explanations, and concepts. The information on Gaslighting and The Narcissistic Abuse Syndrome, like the rest of the information, is cutting edge and completely original. This audiobook contains many more case examples and stories of Ross's own codependency recovery.

Should I Stay or Should I Go? is a survival manual, a guidebook, and a shot of reality. Some people will never change, and kissing frogs is the stuff of fairy tales, not real life. The Beast never turns out to be a nice guy (or gal). This is a book that breaks down what mean people do to us, how they do it, and what we can do to survive.

Story
Narcissists are everywhere. It is said that we are in the midst of a narcissist epidemic. Some sources claim that one in four people is a narcissist. This means that your child, parent, neighbor, coworker, friend, or partner could very well be a narcissist. Narcissists are often not harmful when they keep to themselves. Their behavior becomes a problem when they try to interact with other people. They often don't know how to act, and thus they cause others a significant deal of pain.

Publisher's Summary
You need to get to safety. Now.
When the abuse starts, that’s when you know enough is enough. It’s time to find a haven somewhere else. There will be a chance, down the road, to assess where your marriage is headed in the long term. No one is saying divorce is the inevitable outcome. God can transform anyone.
But He doesn’t promise to do that. People choose to persist in sin. And that’s why it’s imperative for you to leave....So you can think clearly, take stock of the situation, and most of all, protect yourself and those whom you love.
Dr. David Clarke, a licensed psychologist specializing in marital therapy for more than 30 years, wants to help you make the break from your abusive relationship. Whether or not divorce is on the horizon is beside the point. You need to get out, so you can sort it out.
Dr. Clarke understands this journey won’t be easy. That’s why he provides a step-by-step plan that includes practical advice, as well as biblical guidance. But, leave you must, because abuse is a sin that doesn’t come from above.
Let this audiobook help you get away from your abuser, so you can give your marriage the best chance to succeed. Because, only with some distance will you be able to see what your loving, ever-faithful God has in store for you.

I liked the emphasis in the vocabulary as it actually resonated with me how I was feeling and certainly made it seem more real and truthful, I heard what I feel. Thank you.

Horrible narration.
The narrator was horrible. It was difficult to listen to as she was too dramatic and cheesy. Would have been much more effective if Dr. David Clarke read it himself.
