Publisher's Summary

My father once told me, above all else...live and die for Sparta.

Honor. Loyalty. Duty. These were the things that mattered most.

And then Axios came into my life, teaching me other lessons: Humility, brotherhood...love. There were moments when the brutal training stripped me of my humanity, where it turned me into a mindless beast of flesh and muscle set to destroy everything in my way. But then Axios stood in my way, ever vigilant, never failing to bring me back to myself.

Love had no place in Sparta, they said. It made you weak.

So why did I feel stronger with him by my side?

Absolutely Phenomenal

Audiobook Review by Mel
Narrator Adam Stubbs delivered an excellent second installment of the Spartan Tale by the wonderful Jaclyn Osborn. This gripping and emotionally intense love story is about two boys who grew up together while they underwent intense and rigorous military training, to become mighty warriors who live and die for Sparta.

Their story is told from Eryx’s point of view. It has the feel of an epic fantasy as opposed to historical fiction. The narrator has the perfect tone and cadence to pull listeners deep into the story. His ability to give each character their own voice and highlight their personalities created a 5-star experience.

I absolutely recommend this audiobook.

Happy Listening

I cried a river

I was expecting a book to cheer me up because my life has been uneventful lately, and I found this book. Spartans, 1st person, great narrative, so I figured, why not? That’s how I find myself at 4 am, sobbing and screaming silently.
