Publisher's Summary

A hero to some. A villain to many. The truth forever buried.

The man who became known as Esrahaddon is reported to have destroyed the world’s greatest empire—but there are those who believe he saved it. Few individuals are as divisive, but all agree on three facts: He was exiled to the wilderness, hunted by a goblin priestess, and sentenced to death by a god—all before the age of eight. How he managed to survive and why people continued to fear his name a thousand years later has always been a mystery...until now.

From the three-time New York Times best-selling author Michael J. Sullivan, Esrahaddon is the final novel in the Rise and Fall trilogy. This latest set of stories sits snugly between the Legends of the First Empire series and the Riyria books (Revelations and Chronicles). With this tale, Michael continues his tradition of unlikely heroes who must rise to the call when history knocks, demanding to be let in. This is the 19th full-length novel in a body of work that started in 2008 and spans four series.

Another excellent installment Rise and Fall

This is another excellent installment which takes place in Michael J. Sullivan's Riyria/Legends world. Tim Gerard Reynolds does another fantastic job being the voice of that world/timeline.

If you have been reading this series and others in the world, it does fill in some blanks of the history from the founding of the empire through Riyria. But while knowing the stories that chronologically come before and after this, THIS BOOK STANDS ALONE. Knowing the history or where actions taken in the book lead to does and a richness, but you don't need any of that background to read this book. The Legends books forward are ancient history at the time of this book and the later events are centuries in the future

Epic Esrahaddon

Equal parts entertaining and emotional. The authors storytelling skills continue to impress while this larger than life character gets the adventures and action fans deserve. This book fantasticlly flushes out the origins of characters new and old. TIm Gerard Renoylds' performance continues to to bring these cherished characters to life. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Book

What a great way to end the Rise and Fall series. So many questions were answered and many important ones not. But I have come to terms that great authors don't always fill in ALL the blanks, but provide the right amount of information to let the reader ponder them without that empty feeling. Tim Gerard Reynolds is perfect in every way and skillfully tells the story and maintains the individual character's voice. Off to restart the Riyia Revelations again.... can't wait.

Incredible

That was just amazing. How he could take so much from the past and so much from the future is astounding. Still through all that there is so much new as to keep the whole thing fresh. I don’t normally like series past 5 or 6 books because the usually end up just meandering and lose an overarching greater whole. With these each series is a wonder within itself. Also…. Really glad that they stick with Tim G R. - I like the continuity but also he’s my favourite narrator.
