Exactly what I needed
This was an amazing book for me. As a solitary practitioner of Witchcraft of 10 years, who doesn’t identify as Wiccan, per se, Deborah Blake still spoke to me and my beliefs. Her knowledge, wit, and adorable comedic timing is just what the doctor ordered for those looking to dive deeper into our abilities on a daily basis. It’s not just a routine. It’s a way of life. Way to go Deborah!! Say hello to Magic the Cat for me.

Great book, horrible narrator.
I loved the book. Very informative and easy to follow along. My only issue was the choice of narrator. She was extremely flat and monotone throughout the entire book and her lack of knowledge on pronunciation of certain works irritated me like none other. I definitely recommend the book and author, but would never recommend the narrator. Horrible choice for such a good book.

Impossible for me to finish due to narration...
Unfortunately, I am unable to give this audiobook more than 2 stars overall due to the narration. I am not certain how I would feel about the book otherwise - there seems to be some helpful or interesting content, though not especially compelling - that may be partly due to narration. The narration is so dry and flat that it makes it painful to listen to this book. Consequently, I cannot finish it. Somehow I made it to chapter 4 (made it about an hour into it) which is surprising - though I think I was originally listening while doing chores so my attention was simultaneously engaged in another activity - but I was still bored with the book and it was hard to stay focused and engaged with it. I tried again to listen while driving just today and cannot continue. The narrator is simply not engaged with the content or subject matter - she could very well be reading the phone book or a technical manual - however those things could be potentially engaging if read by an excellent narrator. I do not expect a book of this sort to be read in a “dramatic” manner (that could also be annoying) but there is at least space for adding inflection, some emotion, interest and connection to the reading of the content. I have sampled a few other books in this topic and found narrators who are able to be engaged and interesting in their manner of narration. I found this narration off-putting with how flat, disengaged and nearly robotic it is (at least to me).
I do not enjoy writing a review like this 😒 but felt I needed to add a review to reflect my experience. I wish I had been able to find a similar review prior to purchase. Hopefully audible will permit a return. I will need to choose a different book on this topic with narration that is engaged and appealing to me.
