Publisher's Summary

"I want you to do something with the place. Something epic."

After being entrusted with her brother's Los Angeles apartment for the summer as a graduation gift, Emi Price isn't sure how to fulfill his one condition: that something great take place there while he's gone. Emi may be a talented young production designer, already beginning to thrive in the competitive film industry, but she still feels like an average teen, floundering when it comes to romance.

But when she and her best friend, Charlotte, discover a mysterious letter at the estate sale of a Hollywood film legend, Emi must move beyond the walls of her carefully crafted world to chase down the loose ends of a movie icon’s hidden life, leading her to uncover a decades’ old secret and the potential for something truly epic: love.

Like reading about a friend.

I liked that this book was just about normal people. And it read like it. And that it never veered into erotica, even though it was emotionally real and so much of the thread of the story was romance. It was refreshing to read a love story about two queer girls that wasn't some hot and heavy sex fantasy. The story was a mystery, a drama, and a romance, all taking place in a relatable setting, like it could have happened to you and your friend instead of Emi and Charlotte.

Narrator did a pretty good job--I will say I could hardly handle her attempt at a South African accent, and for some reason her voice for Ava grated on me as well. But honestly, aside from that she did a great job.

Very well written and performed

This is a very well written and narrated book. I was drawn in from the start, all the characters are so real and full of hope. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a book full of emotion and love...no sex in story...just sweet and heartfelt. Also, this Narrator is one of the best I have heard...she was perfect for this story.

Cliche book

It was an ok read. It was a little cliche. The ending fit the story.

Amazing

This book was so beautiful and wonderfully written. I have never used audible before, but the way that the narrator reads it is incomparable. Her voice has emotion and you feel more like she’s telling you this story about her life rather than reading a book to you. This book, whether you listen to it or read it yourself, is absolutely perfect.
