Publisher's Summary

When it comes to love, no one is in charge.

Isabel Chase is reeling. She's just been offered her dream job as a staff writer on one of the hottest shows on television and quickly trades in the comfort of New England for sun, sand, and everything Hollywood. While stoked for what could be her big break, the show's stunning executive producer has her head spinning and her feelings swirling.

Taylor Andrews is at the top of her career. Everything she touches turns to gold and the studios know it. Just when she's on track for total television domination, Isabel Chase arrives in her office and slowly turns her world upside down. Isabel is intelligent, sarcastic, and dammit, downright beautiful. Unfortunately, she's the one person that can take away all Taylor has worked for.

Will Isabel's success lead to Taylor's downfall? Or perhaps Isabel is all she needs....

The Narration ruins it for me.

It took too long to develop unimportant details. The narration feels like every sentence is 'yelled' or as if they all end in exclamation Mark's. There is no variation in character voices.

Good, but not my fav Brayden book

Isabel and Taylor were good characters and very likeable. the narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life . the thing that bothered me with this book was how long the ex-girlfriend caused drama for everybody.. I am looking forward to the follow up books from the series.

Struggled to finish

There were two main things with this story that made it hard for me to connect with it and enjoy:

Lack of diversity. The story takes place in LA and yet POC seem to be non existent but every type of thin white woman you can think of exists in this story. Also, can someone point me in the direction of an apartment complex made up almost exclusively of queer women? Thanks.

Laissez-faire treatment of mental illness. The main character has a major anxiety disorder to the point of having crippling anxiety attacks and the possibility of therapy isn't mentioned until the 11th hour of the story. It felt as if she turned the story into her editor and they told her she needed to mention it so she tacked it onto the end.

There were other things (Isabel isn't as funny as she thinks she is/she's kinda a Mary Sue) I didn't mesh with either.

Not for me.

Too predictable.

After listening to Kiss the Girl by this Author and enjoying it I thought I would give this one a try. I was disappointed that it was practically the same story, just the names and places changed. The writing seemed to be more elementary. Narration was fine.

Excellent Audio!

I loved Eyes Like Those .Excellent story. For once I hadn't read the book first. So I didn't know the story. Classic question whether to get involved with someone you work with. Excellently narrated by Melissa Sternenberg.

Kept waiting for it to get good

I loved Strawberry Summers and Waiting in the Wings. This story never really picked up. It was so hard to listen to.

Pretty Good...

The story line was pretty good but I would have liked the characters to be a little better developed, and the narration was somewhat lacking. I guess I expected the narration to be on the same level as the narration in the Soho Loft series, which was excellent, but the narration in this book was less believable which made the story less believable. I'm going to continue listening to the books in this series and hopefully the narration will improve with each.
