Publisher's Summary

Who am I?

My name is Christy Snow. I'm 17 and I'm about to die. I'm buried in a coffin under tons of concrete. No one knows where I am. My heart sounds like a monster with clobber feet, running straight toward me.

I'm lying on my back, soaked with sweat from the hair on my head to the soles of my feet. My hands and feet won't stop shaking. Some will say that I'm not really here. Some will say I'm delusional. Some will say that I don t even exist. But who are they? I'm the one buried in a grave.

My name is Christy Snow. I'm 17. I'm about to die.

So who are you?

In a return to the kind of storytelling that made Black, Showdown and Three unforgettable, Ted Dekker drags that question into the light with this modern day parable about how we see ourselves. Humming with intensity and blindsided twists, Eyes Wide Open is raw adrenaline from the first page to the last pure escapism packed with inescapable truth. Not all is as it seems. Or is it? Strap yourself in for the ride of your life. Literally.

Good Book with Interesting salvation Theology...

I think the Theology in this book presents as quite progressive... Think that may change???
He seems to imply through this story that salvation is already given to everyone and we just need to realize that the light is already in us.... seems like Opra's Theology, but having said that, Dekker uses allegory to push a point.... I think we'll find out in the next books that Christy was actually saved years in the past but forgot... we'll see.
I think beyond the Theology (which dekker may or may not be conveying) this is a really good read/ listen and pulls its weight in tandem with the circle/ lost books/ paradise etc. series and illuminates at least a little bit of the paradise series especially...
I recommend you listen to this book... it moves fast (soooo unusually for Ted Dekker lol...sarcasm- also refer to Dekker's "Three") and twists like those old Peretti-"Veritas" novels we 30-40 somethings remember from when we were just sprouts...
Don't take my or others' that this is a good book... open it for yourself and find out... even if you've never opened a Dekker novel before or holds its own as a stand alone story.
Caution that this novel like Peretti and other Dekker books may be quite intense for younger readers or people who tend toward "Hallmark" ish novels!
ENJOY!
