Horror and Mysterious

Well woven story. Gripping screenplay with a fitting narration. I love stories like this. The advice is simple and clear, exactly what everyone needs to hear.

Not sure if everyone would like this. But I loved it and Im very thankful I read it. That too for free.

If You Never Heard Of The Series, Don't Bother

I heard this today and wasn't impressed. I don't have any background knowledge on any of the characters or what the story is all about. People who listen to this should be those who already heard the full book (1st one) and have some connection to the characters/plot. Everyone else will be lost. There really isn't much of an ending either and feels like nothing was resolved (probably why there's a 2nd - 19th book in the series).

A wank

This is a wank for Howie.

If it cost anything I’d say save your money, but since it’s free I’m emphatically saying don’t download and save your time.

Enjoyable

I really enjoyed this book. I found it to be very descriptive and titling me to vision what was going on throughout the story it was unfortunate that it was only a short story as I would have enjoyed reading entire novel from this story

Meh...Didn't Change My Mind

I love Zombies.

The whole premise (combining terror -imagine your loved ones trying to eat you- with apocalyptic imagery -Like Steven King's 'The Stand' or the 'Mad Max' world-) spawned an entire genre.

Standalone masterpieces like Romero's works or what we got from Max Brooks are favourites. I also enjoy the serials like 'The Walking Dead' (TV and Graphic Novels).

This serial, by RR Hayward, I heard about after reading 'Worldship Humility'
and the reviews are pretty good. This sample chapter is FREE. I thought "Why not give it a try?", still thinking I would probably pass unless it blew me away. It did not.

I have read other works by Haywood and his writing is generally interesting. In this? Not so much. His style is a little tongue-in-cheek, but this carries it a bit far. Reminds me more of 'Shaun Of The Dead' or 'Zombiand' than more serious treatments of the premise, but tries to be horrifying a bit too hard.
Very, Very graphic descriptions of fighting and attempts at trying to build suspense, but no really unique twist on the whole Zombie Apocalypse theme and no sense that the characters are in any danger.

Dan Morgan is a decent enough reader but here he sounds somewhat disinterested. He pretty well uses the same voice inflections for mutiple characters.
Worth a try, and it might appeal to many, but there are far better stories in the genre. This one? Thank you, no

i see why it was free

it would be a neat story, if the author didn't spend so much time sucking his own characters d***s.

FOR POSTERIORS

DELETED SCENE
The main word is scene. This is not a short story, it is not an episode, it is an introduction scene. A deleted scene at that. It was okay, a bit cute and a lot British. Several gay jokes, which I found weird, since I thought most of England was you know, a little light in the loafers. A big part of the scene was taken up with each individual introducing himself. Before that we got a list of characters and the weapons they use and there was a slaughter part to show how they use the weapons.

I was intrigued that there is a Zombie series out where they actually go out with the sole purpose of killing Zombies. I have read so many Zombie books and watch Zombie series and movies, and I always wonder, why are they not out there purposely clearing the area. If the first book in the series goes on sale (and the $4.95 first in a series sale should be any day now) then I will give it a try. This Scene did not sale me on the series.

Wow!

Originally, I passed on this series because the first book wasn't very long and I wanted more story time for my credit. I downloaded the first book before this free story was over without any credits left cause I couldn't wait to get started. Great story, great performance. Well played Haywood, well played.

Disappointing

This is the first free audible program that I did not enjoy. Seemed like a video game -not really a story. I enjoy zombie fiction but did not connect with this. Some dialog was unpleasant to hear. It became tedious at times. I had a hard time finishing it.

meh

narrator was good. story was mediocre. I didn't like how cheesy the ending got. Maybe it's better if you listen to the other books in the series? I don't know. but I do know I hated the fourth wall break at the end. -_- not recommended.

an interesting but pretty mundane zombie story.

This was a fairly standard zombie story. there was a slight twist to moake it different in how the zombies work, but overall it's pretty standard and run of the mill.

nothing really stood out at all other that this is very British based. The preformance was rather dry and mediocre.
