Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best seller, Pepper Winters, comes the second book in Kas and Gem’s twisted romance.

A valley full of secrets.

A history full of nightmares.

A man who cannot be saved.

And a woman who holds his very life in her hands. Strange how the villain of a story can so easily become the victim. Utter lunacy to think the captive might now become the caregiver.

Gemma has a decision to make. Her life or his. Follow her heart, even when it’s screaming at her to run? Or turn her back on the man who could become her everything?

My Mind is Reeling with the Possibilities

Since the audio dropped early, I chose to read and listen in tandem. The narrators brought the characters to life and added another dimension to the story. They both expressed compassion and devotion in their voices, breathing life into the characters. There is no doubt that the audio of Fable of Happiness: Book 2 enhanced my experience of the story and possibly allowed me to be a fly on the wall of Fables, viewing the scenes as they came to life in my mind with the sultry and seductive voices of Tor Thom & Charley Ongel.

Kassen and Gemma's story continues with Fable of Happiness: Book 2.  Author Pepper Winters picks up exactly where she left our characters, and she has your heart palpitations right from the get go. This is a skill she is very good at. The story is long, as long as two regular books. I devoured it; Loved every little morsel the author gave us. There is nothing I would have left out. Oftentimes, I find the middle book of a trilogy to be more of a filler, but not this time. Book 2 dives deep into the relationship of the characters, their mindset, their past. Much is revealed to give light to the present reality.

While we've been waiting to read more about this explosive couple, Pepper has been creating a fable of love, sacrifice, trust, and compassion. Pepper has been creating a tragically yet beautiful love story full of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. She has woven a web that draws you in and created compassion for a monster who is a victim of many circumstances.

Kas and Gemma have a chemistry and electricity that surrounds them. Each touch sends sparks through their limbs and a ravenous hunger demanding to be fed. Their passion is heated, leaving you breathless and sated at the same time.

This dark story shows light at the end of the tunnel, shows a caring heart inside a broken man, and then, poof. It's gone. But will it return again? How long before Kas emerges from the darkness of his nightmares?

It is impossible to walk away from Fables of Happiness without compassion in your heart for both Kas and Gemma. Kas's condition may be temporary or perhaps he is just too far gone into the recesses of his mind. Every day, every minute, is unexpected and volatile. The story keeps you on the edge of your own cliff, teetering with questions and wondering what will happen next.

Well, book 2 certainly left my jaw hanging open with an unexpected shocker. Once again, my heart is palpitating with anticipation of what will happen next! October can't come soon enough!

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
