Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Faking Friends by Jane Fallon, read by Sally Scott and Kristin Atherton.

Best friend. Soulmate. Confidante. Backstabber.

Amy thought she knew who Melissa was - then again, Amy also thought she was on the verge of the wedding of her dreams to her long-distance fiancé. When her career begins to unravel, she pays a surprise trip home to London. Her boyfriend Jack is out, but another woman has been making herself at home.... And that Other Woman is Melissa.

Amy has lost her job, her fiancé and her home in one disastrous weekend - but instead of falling apart, she's determined to get her own back. Piecing her life back together won't be half as fun as dismantling theirs, after all.

Schadenfreude to the max

This was a good book and though it’s in the chick-lit genre it’s not at all cheesy (not that it has to be, but it’s typically a main ingredient for chick-lit). The story delves into a deep-rooted, toxic, best friendship between childhood friends and the elements that hold it together and tear it apart. It explores the meaning and recognition of genuine friendships and how “schadenfreude” is not and should never be in the mix. Overall, the story is solid, character development is great, and the ending is truly satisfying.

Enjoyed every minute

A great summer listen. The twists and turns of friendship and deceit. Kept me interested for the whole book. One of those I wanted to know the ending but did not want it to end.

Best book in awhile!

Oh my stars. I enjoyed this book more than many in recent months. Some books I have had to turn off because of the narrators voice- but in this case, both of these women sound amazing and give stellar performances. Great story- I found myself listening every chance I got to see what happened next. Highly recommend.

Took too long to get exciting

I loved the narrator, she did a wonderful job. British and easy to understand, good volume through out.
I found myself myself wondering "is this book going to be like this the whole time, when is anything exciting going to happen?"

My questions were asked... There IS a plot twist, so stay with it.

Kept me trying to sneak in minutes to listen.

I love that all the characters are human, their good sides and bad sides. Many twists that were not expected but very engaging and the narrator had the best accent.

Best Chick Lit Ever

I adored it. The writing was good and the characters were very realistic. My first book from this author but not the last :)
