The first several chapters of this book sucked me in because I truly GOT what the author was saying...but that is the point of the book. That women GET IT. However, as I continued through the chapters things got very repetitive and by the half way point of the book I was borderline exhausted just trying to get through it. The last few chapters felt a bit rushed. I had hoped for a smoother transition from "this is what emotional labor is" and "this is how I have tackled it" instead of the ongoing repeat of how emotional labor is not recognized or respected in our society by men, in general.
