À propos de cet audio
Mary Alayna Dalton leads a secret double life.
By day, she is a successful Chicago professional, but by night, she shares her home with six young men and performs with them in their band. The only thing missing is a loving relationship with someone accepting of both sides of her life.
When a business encounter thrusts Clark Dulanty into her day, he accidentally stumbles into her nights and uncovers both sides of Mary Alayna Dalton. Their encounters are turbulent and their ensuing romance revealing as Clark slowly discovers all her secrets, only to expose the ambiguities of his own life choices on his journey to finding Eden.
©2008 Sheri Richey (P)2020 Sheri RicheyWhat I didn’t appreciate was the way they highlighted two “black” character with backwards, uneducated speech. Although meant to be endearing…it is not the south in the 1950’s or 1800’s with mammy working as a maid or on a plantation. It takes place in Chicago in the 2000’s. the book and narrator does not need to perpetuate black, racist stereotypes with the inarticulate accent and blatant poor speech. As a person of colour I found it offensive.
Compelling love story
