Malala's memoir is a gift. Most famous people who write memoir are actually writing autobiography - the story of their lives (I went to this school, met that person, did this thing). Memoir tells that same story but with meaning that goes beyond the author. Malala's book is true memoir in that it shares her experiences, but speaks to the real experiences of others. She is funny, personable, and oh so very accessible. I absolutely loved this book. And now I love Malala.

Incredible storytelling by Malala. I felt like a got to really see, relate to, and appreciate the person Malala is, aside from her incredible work and advocacy. Funny, outgoing, compassionate, and fiercely committed to her mission to see no girl denied their right to education. She is all the more incredible for her vulnerability in sharing her personal struggles in university, mental health, relationships and marriage. I have so much respect and admiration for her, and I wish her all the best in her life.
