Publisher's Summary

I've wanted Andrea since the moment I saw her.

But she's human. I'm drakoni. The only way I'll stay sane and not lose myself to the madness that's swept over my people is if I keep my mental walls strong. I have to give up everything that makes me a dragon. That means no telepathy, no fire breathing, and no battle form.

I certainly can't take a mate. Andrea can't be mine.

When her brother escapes the fort, though, she needs help tracking him down. That means I'll be alone with her, breathing in her sweet scent, and it may be too much for my control.

What happens if I give in to my dragon? Will I take her as my mate...or tear her throat out?

Contains mature themes.

This was my favourite one yet

This one definitely had more of a storyline and I’m grateful for that!
Again a male dragon seeking a female mate, but this time he’s been stuck in his 2 legged form for the past 7 years since coming through the rift. So he has learned to speak & this books is more a friends to lovers and I’m grateful for the difference I was getting sick of all the book being the same.
This was a breath of fresh air.

Absolutely loved this

Book 6, "Fire in His Veins" of The Fireblood Dragon Romance series by Ruby Dixon is an exciting continuation of the series. Liam is a draconi whom was in his two legged form when first pulled into this world through the rift and watched his fellow draconi while in Dragon form go instantly insane. For the past seven years he's refrained from using any telepathi or his Dragon form. He believes that something in this world interferes with the telepathic links of his kind causing the insanity. He's been able to pass as human and remain sane. Andy is falling for Liam but he advises her the he would probably go insane and hurt her if he tried to mate with her because it would open up his telepathic links. Andy's young brother runs away and Liam goes with her to help track her brother. He's able to track his scent. The storyline continues with much tragedy, plus steamy sex and of course a HEA that leads into the next book. Narrators both do an excellent job. Keep up the great work Ruby, love all your stories.

Redemption for the series with this story

I was anxious for LIam's story as soon as his character was introduced. After the last book I wasn't sure I wanted to continue with this series but this book was awesome. The whole scenario of trying to find Andrea's brother was a great way to freshen up things - get out of the forts and the lone couple scenarios. The last half of this book was so emotional, I was captivated and couldn't stop listening. Again the narrators were so good they were more like actors giving life to the characters rather than just reading the book. I've returned other books due to bad narrators but never one with Noelle and Jeremy narrating.

Loved it!

Absolutely loved this installment. It could be my favorite in the series. It was different and having the drakoni male be someone who has been passing as human and therefore is able to talk was really cool. It added the fresh flair that the series needed. Liam is also probably my favorite of the dudes. Andrea is really great too. I’d love to hear more of their story at some point.

Dragon Love

Good reading with enough excitement to hold your interest. And lots of sex, but I liked it because it didn't bore me. Primarily the anxiety that overwhelmed Andrea. I got hung up on that energy.

Very Different

It was so different giving a dragon a more human edge. Adding in a plague and mixing of bloods very interesting.

Yersinia pestis strikes at last!

I am always waiting for authors to include plague. It is endemic to the western United States and while not typically found in rats, it can be, as well as domestic animals. It’s been almost a decade since a man survived the three forms (bubonic, septicemic, pneumonic) of plague after a cat bite. He had so many antibiotics pumped into him, and he still lost fingers. Of course, plague would spread as rats became abundantly uncontrolled and moved through areas where carriers of the fleas that carry Y. pestis would have a rat buffet.

Humans are filthy and plague would likely have hit sooner than 7 years into the fall of modern living, although there are many things that have failed in this series that wouldn’t only 7 in. I have socks and undergarments older than 7 years…made at the time of this series, when items were better made. Also, more people would have survived the plague…it is asinine to have two colonies of people not recognize plague expressed in the lymph nodes. Statistically, there would be at least one, if not more, healthcare professionals in each colony. Sure, I doubt there would be someone making agar and growing it out…but there is a me somewhere in every other grouping of people who can use a microscope without power and can make a basic agar.

I am glad the plot had a story arc and more character development than the last book, which will be returned. I just listened to it yesterday and haven’t gotten around to it. (I read the heavy stuff and listen to romance and fluff. I won’t remember this in a year, as I listen to a book a day, so it will be another fun listen…whereas Dostoyevsky I read, it has meat and sticks. I won’t be reading the greats every year!)

I love this author and the spicy stories.......

But I wish it was all bit more sureal when it comes to the female body's, I know I know, we don't want to talk about other body hair..... and it's probably a given that they have more hair than just private hair, but it would be nice and more realistic if leg and under arm hair were mentioned as well, cuz whether your on another planet with aliens or an apocalyptic USA I don't see girls shaving everywhere but their privates. maybe that makes it alil unsexy but when it comes to mates for life I'm sure their are plenty unsexiness that would happen other than body hair, but I feel like if you mention the soft curls of a sex and not other body hair, I wanna know how they are shaving it lol, cuz we might need to know for future reference incase sexy dragons come through our skys!

another great one in the series!

I was looking forward to Liam since he first showed up. it was a switch to have him in his two legged form and able to communicate effectively from the start. Andi in the previous book seemed more enthusiastic to get a dragon then she did this time which I was a little disappointed about. she was all freaked out about a reputation. considering the reason everyone in that fort is there in the first place and that it's a freaking dragon apocalypse that seemed kinda silly. him on the other hand was reluctant to lose his mind, memories and his entire personality to the madness which further went to minimize her issues. it got interesting once Gabe showed up and the mystery of the abandoned fort and everything that followed. she redeemed herself at the end in her second attempt to catch a dragon.

I couldn’t finish, got half way and the h was so monotone that I was bored. Couldn’t even keep focused on the book.

Sexy Dragons and mates

A deeper story than the 1st books and I enjoyed that. For those who like life-long love stories, mates and post apocalyptic world with a lot of wild sex and adventures. Dixon succeeds in creating sweet and strong characters we want to be friends with and follow.
Adults only.
