Publisher's Summary

The best days of your life might be still to come…

When 73 year old Jen announces that she is going to marry Eddie, a man she met just a few months previously on a beach on Boxing Day, her four best friends from aqua aerobics are flabbergasted.

The wedding is booked and, when the groom decides to have a stag trip to Las Vegas, the ladies arrange a hen party to beat all others -a week in the city of love, Paris.

From misadventures at the Louvre, outrageous Parisian cabarets, to drinking champagne with a dashing millionaire at the casino, Paris lives up to all their hopes and dreams. But a week can change everything, and the women that come home have very different dreams from the ones who got on the plane just days ago.

Funny, fearless and with a joie de vivre that reminds you to live every day like it’s your last. Judy Leigh has once again written the perfect feel-good novel for all fans of Cathy Hopkins, Dawn French and Fiona Gibson

joyful

I almost deleted this about 5 mins into it, with the narration of a carribean man. thankfully his appearances are brief and rare because its really quite awful 🤣. overall I really enjoyed the book, I laughed loudly while working more than once which is always a bonus.

A Great Read

I enjoyed this performance for many reasons, I found it thought provoking. A group of elderly ladies who form a bond through an aqua fit program help each other through various trials and tribulations. Each one dealing with their own demons. Their trip to Paris culminates in resolutions for many of these issues but proves to them the value of friendship, love and independence. Although they are in their seventies, they still have a lot of living to do!

Needs more pauses

Everything was good except the narrator needs to use much longer pauses in certain areas! The vast majority of the times when the plot switched from one storyline to another, I found it really quite difficult to realize that the scene/story had switched. That led to confusion at times and me pressing the "go back" button :( I haven't found that to be an issue with any other audiobooks. Just please make longer pauses between "scenes" to signify that we're switching gears.
