Story
For solitary novelist Jorie Price, true love seems as fictional as the shape-shifting creatures she writes about in her paranormal romances. Griffin Westmore doesn't believe in love, either, but she's one of those not-so-fictional shape-shifters who secretly live among humans. When Jorie's writing gets uncomfortably close to the truth, Griffin is sent to investigate and, if necessary, kill the author to protect the secrets of her kind. But when Griffin unexpectedly finds herself drawn to Jorie, her world is turned upside down.

Sutton Spencer's ideas for her life were fairly simple: finish graduate school and fall in love. It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Oh, and if she could figure out how to talk to a woman without feeling like a total mess, that would be great, too. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite.

Story
As the aftermath of the war against Avalon settles and life in the lands of Sparo returns to a semblance of order, the matron of the library, Emily, also known lovingly as the Queen of the Scrolls, decides it is time for her to return home. It was revealed in the war that Emily possessed magic and had come from lands faraway to observe the people of Sparo and document their culture as the First Seeker of her Sect. Her homeland, New Cali, lay far to the south beyond the Fringe and out into the Uninhabitable Lands.
Publisher's Summary
Unknown to regular citizens, nightmarish supranormals ("supras") lurk in the dark underbelly of human civilization.
Code-named Malice, Hunter Mary Alice Nolan was genetically modified and rigorously trained to use her great strength, heightened senses, and killer instincts to track and eliminate supras who prey on the innocent. A loner by choice, her only real link to the human world is her close connection to her mother and sister - until the unthinkable happens...
Ruri Samson has been a werewolf for more than a century and is comfortably situated as the Beta of her peaceful pack. Until she is betrayed by the woman she loves and an evil outsider massacres her Alpha and his most loyal followers. Barely escaping with her life, Ruri is forced to tread the perilous path of a lone wolf while vowing vengeance against the usurper and his minions.
Although these two powerful women should rightfully despise each other, fate will soon compel them to join forces on a dangerous quest to avenge their loved ones - and will ignite a forbidden passion that neither of them ever imagined.

ok for a love story, if that's what you want.
First off this is just my opinion as a nobody so take it for what its worth. I went into this book thinking it would be an interesting supernatural urban fantasy thriller. What I got was soft porn wrapped in a love story.
Maybe in my naivety I might have missed some clue in the description but this story was not what I thought it was going to be. The sole focus in this book to me, was about the sexual desire and carnal acts of the two main characters. Now dont get me wrong, I do enjoy that sort of thing if I am expecting it.
The story itself was ok though it lacked depth which the writer seemed to put that energy more into the sex scenes. The characters were good but the narrator seemed to struggle with bringing mutiple people to life.
Again, not a bad supernatural love story but not the supernatural thriller I was looking for.

Solid Supernatural Lesbian Story
Did I love it? I can't say I did, but I did like it. It's a solid book and I like the world. The author has a great imagination and doesn't shy away from the dark side.
I did struggle in the beginning, but once I got half way through it, I enjoyed it and spent the day listening to it. I struggled because most of the characters were really unlikable at first (this could just be because of the narration or the writing or both). The character development though is what kept me reading.
There are moments that make you laugh from the snarkiness, your heart drop from tension, or smile in relief. All these moments kept me reading and I will buy the 2nd book.

Better than twilight
It’s a great story I love the character development. I can’t ever understand why Twilight got so much rep if books like these exist. Having two strong heroines from the start is way more interesting.

Unlikable character and odd emotional turmoil
So first off, I didn't like the whole dissolving of emotional bonds. It made it sad when it probably should have been anxious or angry. Then there's Cassady. She was some kind of half baked "chosen one" character that seemed to be the sole contributor of the emotional dissolve. She didn't have enough substance to be a likeable underdog and didn't have any footing for the sudden way she turned her back on her sister. The end was beyond predictable and just inevitable.

Great story, almost believable
There were some hard to believe gymnastics involved in making the lead character a loner. There are some reasons why some people are loners but none of these made any sense.
The author clearly wanted his character to be alone to increase the drama but could have put a little more effort into making her loner status believable.
No one I know who went through any sort of military training did so without forming strong ties to those they trained with.
