Publisher's Summary

Sometimes you can't change - and sometimes you just don't want to. Discover Ben's side of the story in this fourth novel by the beloved, top-selling indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths, One Tiny Lie and Four Seconds to Lose.

Purple-haired, sharp-tongued Reese MacKay knows all about making the wrong choice; she's made plenty of them in her 20-odd-years. So when her impulsive, short-lived marriage ends in heartbreak, she decides it's time for a change. She moves to Miami with the intention of hitting reset on her irresponsible life, and she does quite well…aside from an epically humiliating one-night stand in Cancun with a hot blond bouncer named Ben. Thank God she can get on a plane and leave that mistake behind her.

Football scholarship and frat parties with hot chicks? Part of charmer Ben Morris's plan. Blown knee that kills any hope of a professional football career? So not part of the plan. Luckily Ben has brains to go with his knockout looks and magnetism. After three long years of balancing law school with his job as a bouncer at Penny's Palace, he's ready to lead a more mature life - until his first day of work, when he finds himself in the office of that crazy, hot chick he met in Cancun. The one he hasn't stopped thinking about.

If Ben truly were a smart guy, he'd stay clear of Reese. She's the boss's stepdaughter and it's been made very clear that office romances are grounds for dismissal. Plus, rumor has it she's trouble. The only problem is: He likes trouble, especially when it's so good-looking…

Great book overall

I love this book and all the others in this series. It is a great story about Ben’s life. It gives us a chance to see he is not as superficial as he seemed in the other books.

Light, entertaining

Reese is a troubled and trouble-making 21 year-old who takes a trip to Cancun as a step in recovery from a short, painful marriage. She meets Ben, who is on his last day of vacation. Even though Ben is the type to sleep with any female who shows an interest, he is enamored by Reese’s energy, unsocial behavior, and sharp tongue. Reese is estranged from her materialistic mother and accepts the assistance of one of her mother’s exes and past step-father, who puts her to work in his law firm.

Ben and Reese meet again months later as Ben begins his first position as a lawyer in the same firm. Reese’s ex appears back in her life with his new wife and former mistress. Reese is bitter and wants to hurt them as much as they hurt her, which drives much of Reese’s actions through the book. Ben is happy to be entertained by and a participant in Reese’s revenge as long as she understands and accepts his position against commitment.

The last book in a series, “Five Ways to Fall” reads well without reading previous installments. Tucker can write and is particularly good with character development, but isn’t the best storyteller. The plot would have been strengthened by expounding on Reese’s parents and her quest to learn about her father. The performances are well done, but production has a few small problems.

Overall, good escapism and worth a credit.

A disappointing end to a great series :(

Any additional comments?

The book begins with us getting Reese 's back story that doesn't ally have a lot to do with the main story line. Then we see her meet Ben in Cancun, after this embarrassing encounter she thinks to never see Ben again. Until she finds out he's working for her stepfather. Now these two start to become semi friends under strange circumstances that may lead to more if they can overcome their issues...

This book was okay. I liked it but no where as much as previous books. I so loved them... I felt this one got rather boring times... I just really didn't care for Reese, there was just something about her that rubbed me the wrong way. As the last story in the series I wish we had gotten to see a little more of the characters from previous books.. Not a book i would listen to again sadly...

Perfection in every sentence

If you could sum up Five Ways to Fall in three words, what would they be?

Ultimate listening pleasure.

What other book might you compare Five Ways to Fall to and why?

None. It is in a class of its own. A fanatastic and realistic story delivered audibly with shear excellence.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Louise and Deacon Lee – was your favorite?

Reece and Ben in no particular order..... and all the other characters: Mason, Lena, Jack, Annabel, Ben's mom to mention a few....were all great

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh so hard, it was okay to cry. Very emotional with a lot of warm and fuzzies to make the ride worthwhile.

Any additional comments?

I have read and listened to all of the books in these series and with this installment, I am a K.A. Tucker fan for life.....I am adding all her books to my library and cannot wait for my daughters to be 18+ to read them.....They have become a family requirement of mine. The Narrators are off the chain in thier delivery and can only be compared to the best : Becca Batoe, Kirk Kerby...and still could easily come on top.......

The male narrator ruins it for me

I like the series, it's an easy read. But the male narrator kills the character.

Performance through me off

I did not like the male voice, but the female was good. I thought the story lacked a thick/good plot

The Best of the Series!

Where does Five Ways to Fall rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

With the combination of the winning story, great characters and excellent narration, Five Ways to Fall is one of the better audios I've listened to.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Five Ways to Fall?

So many memorable moments! There were funny moments when Ben and Reese were teasing each other, or when she took revenge on her ex. I also loved the moments when the two were slowly realizing that they were falling in love.

Which scene was your favorite?

So many! I loved Ben and Reese at his family's orange grove.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh a few times, and I teared-up at the very end. I spent the majority of my time smiling.

Any additional comments?

Great story, great narration. I would listen to Deacon Lee and Elizabeth Louise again in a heartbeat!

A great listen, BUT needs clarification…

Wait…Read by Sebastian York? That’s incorrect, Right? The narrator sounds like Deacon Lee. I’ve listened to him several times.

Love the series

I really loved this series and I love Elizabeth Louise, but I can not stand Deacon Lee’s voice. It sounds like he is trying to hard to pronounce the words properly. I also felt like Ben’s voice needed to be a deeper voice.
