Publisher's Summary

In this unforgettable seventh book in The New York Times and USA Today best-selling Keeper of the Lost Cities series, Sophie must let the past and present blur together, because the deadliest secrets are always the ones that get erased.

Sophie Foster doesn’t know what - or whom - to believe. And in a game with this many players, the worst mistake can be focusing on the wrong threat. But when the Neverseen prove that Sophie’s far more vulnerable than she ever imagined, she realizes it’s time to change the rules. Her powerful abilities can only protect her so far. To face down ruthless enemies, she must learn to fight.

Unfortunately, battle training can’t help a beloved friend who’s facing a whole different danger - where the only solution involves one of the biggest risks Sophie and her friends have ever taken. And the distraction might be exactly what the villains have been waiting for.

on to the next book...

Definitely a slower paced book compared to the rest of the series so far. Missing more Keefe interaction so sure!!

Fitz

He is very bad. Legacy is good though. Legacy makes up for it. I need 15 words

Great book!

Great book! I loved it! Definitely a five-star read, but it takes a while to get used to the way the voices sound.

Not the best installment

Ok, this is my least favorite book in the series so far, and it is just, I think, because I wanted more from it. Mostly I wanted more progression in the overall storyline. There are only two more parts coming, and I hate to say this but I feel like the author may have written herself into a corner. Or, the next two books need to be filled to the brim with reveals.

Sophie and the gang are confronted with an enemy that is claiming to have lost all his memories. His parents take him back in, but Fitz in particular doesn't trust him at all. After the things that happened in the previous book, it's decided that Sophie doesn't just need one extra bodyguard, but five, basically one from every species they've encountered

Relationships are deepened and tested. There's a really cool battle scene in beginning of this book, and the gang also decides to take on dedicated battle training. As always the way magic is described is just top notch, but , also, as always I wish we got the see more of it

Sophie also deals with PTSD again, and I think it was done very well. The shipping finally gets adressed, but it wasn't satisfying to me. I think she picked the wrong one!

And the final reveal was so lackluster to me, let's hope the story picks itself back up in the next one

Caitlin Kelly does great as always, so much diversity in voices

I'm too old to love this but I don't care!

First of all, the story - the whole series - is fantastic! Secondly, Caitlin Kelly doors a great job with the various voices, and there are a lot! I started listening to the series because my daughter had devoured the books and then did same with the audiobooks. I had finished a book but didn't have credits so I started KOTLC - and have listened to all 7 twice! I ordered the 8th book and told my kids I was going to read it aloud in Caitlin's voices!

Unbearable suspence = GIANT cliff hanger

If you are going to wait a long time to get the next book, at least don’t leave us in a complete cliff hanger like, “Sophie Elizabeth Foster is unmatchable ...”

leaves you thinking there should be more

okay my review is purely based on the fact that that you shouldn't be knowing more. they have left so much out that I am questioning whether or not she's ever going to reveal anyting and just make people guess until the very last book. which is not how things should go I think the boy who she's crushing on who she's been crushing on forever should not be the one who she ends up with. and until she knows her real background of her family she shouldn't even think about looking for a match. the person who I love in this book the most is Keith he is Tumi the good boy trying to be bad in such such a good-looking boy compared to every other one cuz in your mind you imagine the most cutest thing ever. and we all know that she likes him she just won't admit it yet. and we know that some Elves go strictly by the rules so sad for her. who knows what the world she's getting herself into is going to give her. I hope the author reads this because I would love for more information on them then what we're being given because you get drawn into this beautiful world that's being destroyed by their own and you just think wow. I will read the next book because I've already spent enough money that I need to know what's going on.
