À propos de cet audio
The long-awaited memoir from John Fogerty, the legendary singer-songwriter and creative force behind Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Creedence Clearwater Revival is one of the most important and beloved bands in the history of rock, and John Fogerty wrote, sang, and produced their instantly recognizable classics: "Proud Mary", "Bad Moon Rising", "Born on the Bayou", and more. Now he reveals how he brought CCR to number one in the world, eclipsing even the Beatles in 1969. By the next year, though, Creedence was falling apart; their amazing, enduring success exploded and faded in just a few short years.
Fortunate Son takes listeners from Fogerty's Northern California roots through Creedence's success and the retreat from music and public life to his hard-won revival as a solo artist who finally found love.

Great listen for fans of Fogerty & CCR
A great and thorough listen as Fogerty himself takes you through his entire life and career - up and downs, childhood, early days of CCR, becoming one of the greatest rock & roll bands of all time, and sudden breakup, into the dark years and through to his solo career. But heads up, prepare for Fogerty to air out all his grievances lol. Although he claims he’s healed and on the other side of his demons, he has the tendency to drag everyone in his past through the mud - his band mates, managers, friends, everyone really lol. Can come across a little bitter, difficult, and you start to wonder if maybe he’s the problem through it all. Maybe the mad genius syndrome. But hopefully one day he can let go of all the grudges and heal…

Jesus. What a rough ride
Great insight to what might just be the most frustrating biography I’ve heard yet. Not sure how JF managed to even get out of bed in the 70’s. Good on you. Also, financial rollercoaster aside, it’s great to hear some insight to the song creation/writing process. As a fellow musician I was able to relate with so much of what he lived. Cheers

Inspirational and painful.
I loved hearing John describe his love of music. His book is a painful reminder to all of us that we can become victims by signing our names. I think I'll remember this story every time I sign a contract.

Disappointing
He should stick to writing songs.
Sounds like it was written by 10yr olds school speech and narrated like someone reading a Dr. Seuss book.
A huge disappointment
