À propos de cet audio

Frankenstein: The Original 1818 Text by Mary Shelley is a timeless gothic novel that explores the dangers of unchecked ambition and the ethical dilemmas of scientific advancement.

First published in 1818, this groundbreaking work tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but reckless scientist who creates a sentient creature in his quest to conquer death. However, his experiment spirals into tragedy as the creature, abandoned and misunderstood, seeks both revenge and companionship.

Shelley's novel delves into themes of isolation, responsibility, and the consequences of playing god, making it a cornerstone of both horror and science fiction literature. This edition preserves the original text, offering listeners an unfiltered experience of Shelley’s haunting masterpiece.

An excellent book and story, but the guy who reads it is completely wrong and ruins they story. It's like he doesn't understand what he's reading.

Still a great story and the first version of it before it was revised twice.

Highly recommend.

I have to read the 1818 edition for school and given the short period of time it's due, I needed to listen to an audiobook in my down time to make sure I can get it completed. There are almost no recordings of the 1818 edition, this was the only one I could find available.

The narration is not good...it sounds like AI/robotic. It's very stiff like the words are just being delivered but not understood or contextualised. The intonations and emphasis are on the wrong words and syllables. Also at chapter 3 the tone suddenly changes and it sounds like a different voice... but similar delivery.

It's all just not good. If I didn't have to keep listening I would not. It's unfortunate because with the right narrator the story is really engaging I wish this edition had one.

Narration sounds like AI
