Wonderful story, BEAUTIFULLY narrated!!

As a mother of a tween daughter, I am always searching for books or podcasts that we can enjoy together. This book was a goldmine. It made us laugh, definitely made us cry, but most importantly, it provoked meaningful discussion between the two of us. In fact, we had to pause the audiobook several times in order to have elaborate conversations.
But the real jackpot of this book is the narrator. Listening to the same voice for six to ten hours can sometimes prove tedious or start to sound repetitive. But, Julie McCarthy's voice is like a song. Both my daughter and I easily relaxed into Ms. McCarthy's talent for telling a story. She uses different voices and by doing so, the characters come alive. At the conclusion of this audiobook, I immediately searched McCarthy's list of narrated books. We are looking forward to diving into 'Alora' next. Thank you, Ms. Tarantino for your beautiful story that tugged at our heartstrings and thank you, Ms. McCarthy for truly bringing those characters to life.
