Story
Caroline Parker knows three things to be true. First, she is going to be Boston's most sought-after divorce attorney by 35. Second, given how terrible her romantic track record is, falling in love isn't in the cards for her. And third, Christmas only brings her bad luck - being broken up with not once, not twice, but three times during the holidays is proof enough of that. When she runs into Hannah Dalton on Christmas Eve, she has no reason to believe her luck will change. After all, though Hannah is probably the most gorgeous woman she's ever seen, she's also straight.

Publisher's Summary
After narrowly escaping fiery death in Out of the Flames, San Francisco police detective Manhattan Sloane and DEA Agent Finn Harper embark on something even more perilous: bringing to justice all those responsible for the murder of Sloane's wife, and rekindling the love they had for each other as teens. Both have the potential to burn them badly - and scar Sloane's grieving stepdaughter, Reagan.
Even as Sloane rediscovers that life without love is no life at all, she is learning that parenthood - especially single parenting - means making sacrifices. Can she have it all? Finn and Reagan and the badge she has worn with honor for almost nine years? Or will a cartel drug lord bent on revenge force her to not only betray her conscience - but also fail to save the ones she loves?

Great book!
This was even better than the previous book about Sloane and Finn. The ending was bittersweet because of Sloane and Erick. Hope that gets resolved in the next book!

Action and Drama!
This series, A Manhattan Sloane Thriller could totally become a movie or TV show! The book From the Ashes starts off from the previous book, Out of the Flames, which was great because I was able to jump right into it. Sloane and Finn have amazing chemistry and I can’t wait for another thrilling adventure with these ladies. Definitely recommend!
