À propos de cet audio
My baby is in the NICU. How can I breastfeed?
Most parents have a birth plan and believe they will have the perfect pregnancy and the best delivery.
"I will have the perfect baby; they will latch and breastfeed well. I will have the best hospital experience and go home with my baby."
Then reality hits. My baby is premature, has to be admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, requires oxygen, and is too little to breastfeed. What can I do?
I have found that the best birth plan is to let life happen. Listen and learn as much information as possible, and be ready for anything that might come up. I hope to give you, the parents, and your family a little insight into the workings of the NICU and your role in your baby's early life. Learn how to give your breast milk, touch, and ralk to your baby—how, why, and when.
The choice is yours: “Step up and give your baby the best start in life.”
