Publisher's Summary

Jack is a faceless gamer known as The Joker. He makes a living playing video games and using his gravelly voice to bring people’s sexual fantasies to life.

When the top gaming site on the West Coast sends someone out to interview him, Quinlan walks into his apartment with her auburn curls and thick curves, and they’re instantly drawn to each other.

Quinlan has no idea of the monster that lurks beneath the surface of his calm demeanor.

Jack is quicksand, pulling her down into the dark underbelly of his desires.

To get out unscathed, she’ll need to give in to the hunger she has always tried to deny.

The Voice!

Not crazy about the kink and BDSM but vo Eros has an amazing voice and tone.

Voice actor is superb, writing awful

I got this book on a recommendation that the voice actor is very good, but i had to stop it midway because the story line seemed very forced, plus the female lead was not very likeable. Not everyones cup of tea, kind of trying to be modern day fifty shades?

what's next from Dana Isaly

Great short story. I can't wait for what comes next from Dana Isaly. The two main characters were very well developed. secondary characters were less believeable, but I suspect we might meet them again. The sound quality in the first hour was quite poor, but it improved in the second hour.

Hot and bothered.

In a good way. Cheeky story, without much depth...but that narrator made my cheeks burn more than once.

Delicious

I'm going to have to say that the narrator made this book. Don't get me wrong, Dana is an amazing author, but she has definitely changed the game for audio books. Like completely elevated the game. ovEros is now the narrator I want for all future audio books.

Um.... Wow

The story was good, the narration was better. VO Eros is amazing, his voice is both soothing and sexy. Don't know why but it was great for anxiety 😊

disturbing real back story

Edited but leaving the original below
I am so grossed out by the behaviour of the author and how she treated the narrator. Writing a fantasy about her and him meeting and all the things she wanted to do with him, then having him read it to her and everyone else? Horrific. If you don't agree, please imagine the scenario with the genders reversed.
Woah. Is it hot in here or is it just the narrator? Let’s keep talking about him shall we? Did I swoon? Did I get shivers? Goosebumps? Did I need a moment to gather myself? The answer to all is a resounding yes in-fucking-deed I did!
Ok shorter story, even better narrator

Audio is Hot

Still a darker hotter traditional romance. A gamer - something more modern. Worth the listen. Narrator is smokey and deep.

Fanfiction based on a real person.

I enjoyed the performance, and may have enjoyed the story as well... But... Knowing that it's fanfiction, based partially on someone who would be very uncomfortable being inserted into it, made me feel pretty gross about reading it.

The spicy stuff was incredible and the author has great potential, not only in erotica but maybe in other avenues too, if there was to be a plot-focused book eventually. There's no lacking in the imagination department and there is a lot of raw talent here. I hope to see more and watch the growth continue, but this particular work just wasn't "it" for me.

Amazing Narration, Cringe Story

Loved the narrator's performance.

I would give this 5 ⭐ if it wasn't such a cringe story. It made me uncomfortable that the narrator and the MMC have so many things in common. The author and the FMC also have many things in common. It's clear that the author has a thing for the narrator, wrote the story with him in mind, and then had him narrate her fantasy to life. I can't support that kind of manipulation.

It’s a no from me

The narrator of this book? LOVE LOVE LOVE. However, based on recent events, I just can’t give this story anything other than one star. I’m extremely disappointed with how things played out and won’t be supporting this author anymore. If you like the narrator of this story, check out Scream for Us by Molly Doyle as he narrates that one and has more upcoming projects.

Narrator was great. Story was wattpad.

A struggle getting though. The Narrator was fantastic and I hope to hear more from them.
The story was Tropey, random and reaked of fanfic. Corpse Husband meets every twilight fanfic all with bad "kink".

Don't do it.

The plot of this story was so cringy. The authors writing was mediocre and there was NO PLOT.

That being said.... the narrator of this story was FIRE. I would let him read my grocery list to me.

His name is vo. EROS and he has a patreon

I look forward to purchasing any future audiobooks he narrates......JUST NOT THIS ONE.

Inhumane

The performance done by vo.Eros of this book was executed amazingly, the actual writing of the book left much to be desired. This is a clear fanfiction piece with the author self inserting herself and sexualizing the voice actor who the character is based on. Jack/Joker/Eros is a man who has everything and decides to randomly hook up and marry a nobody named Quinlan (cheap Joker/Harley Quinn knock off, not creative). No character build up, no substance. Awful book, and recently learned awful author with no morals or values. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Seriously sexy!

This was my 373rd audiobook of 2021, but my first book by this Author and this narrator. At 3 hours this audiobook is short enough that I was expecting erotica with little substance (which is perfectly fine), but I was very pleasantly surprised. Jack and Quinn are inexplicably drawn to each other, but it is written in a way that you don’t have to suspend disbelief or picture cheesy porn music in the background (again, nothing wrong with that). There is just something crackling in the air around them that bleeds through in the performance. In this case one night of deliciously devious exploration surprises them both by turning into so much more. They have an instant and undeniable attraction and drive to trust each other, in spite of everything the world has taught them about trusting other people. Dana puts just the right emphasis on establishing their history throughout the story without feeling invasive or interrupting the action…

As for the action, buckle up and listen with your earbuds because this is NSFW! Jack is a very naughty man with deeply alpha tendencies who has met his perfect match in Quinn, so be prepared for some seriously hawt seggsy encounters that threaten to melt all your wires! Multiple bookmarks…Multiple!

His friends (Wes, Owen, Greg, and Hudson) are perfect with their complementary personalities. I love how they react to Quinn and hope to see more of them in future books in the series.

I am definitely narrator motivated, so I will admit to choosing this book solely based on hearing vo.EROS on various social platforms. I love the growly quality to his voice, but he is also quite good at distinguishing the different characters by subtly changing his voice/accent/infections. A good narrator will absolutely make or break an audiobook, and I look forward to vo.EROS narrating more audiobooks. He has tons of potential! I seriously hope Dana plans to have him narrate the rest of the series! More Please!

HOLY CRAP

WOW! I loved this novella when I read it but MY GOD this is even better!!! This man’s voice is absolutely positively MF perfect for spicy romance books! 🙌🙌
I need him to narrate a ton more! I’ve watched some videos of his on his other social media doing accents and everything he’s seriously so good!
And to this author… I hope she never stops writing because I swear each book gets better than the last!

Fun story and AMAZING narration

I had seen this book all over booktok and had been wanting to read it. luckily, the wonderful vo.Eros narrated this book. there is no other voice actor that could have done this book. the book itself is sexy, fun, and relatable.

but Eros takes it to the next level. this is a must buy and listen to.

the only good thing about this is the narrator

Honestly, the narration, amazing, 10/10 would recommend. The story line on the other hand is a whole other story. Incredibly short, only 3 hours and to charge so much for it?

Also, this doesn't even get into the fact that the author made this with Eros specifically in mind while writing without his knowledge or consent (only credited after the fact) is slightly nauseating.
