I want my money back

Someone's snobby Harvard mom lecturing you for hours while trying to get forced laughs. Unnecessarily longgg. Unbearable. Couldn't make it past the first chapter... thinly-veiled control freak vibes~~

Great start to get your shit together.

As a Simon (this book will get into that). It was tough for me to break out into what I thought were neverending habits that I had initially thought were good, but realized far too late were horrible. This book gave me insight on how to deal with some of the problems I face daily at work, in my marriage and in other aspects of my life. Thanks Sarah!

Love it!

Lots of great tips for success in many different areas of life - and not the same old, same old either. Enjoyable and easily digestible. Will likely listen to this again.

Maybe I'll go to the gym tonight

I liked the feel of this book and how it was like talking to your best friend. Very funny and insightful and just may motivate me to get my a** off the couch. Best part was probably figuring out which Chipmunk I was though...that set the bar.

It's a Blogpost. It's a 4 Hour Blogpost.

Would you try another book from Sarah Knight and/or Sarah Knight?

Not likely. I tear through a lot of motivational books on my way to and from work. This one was 75% jokes and anecdotes and only 25% substance.

Would you be willing to try another book from Sarah Knight? Why or why not?

Yes. Her vocal presentation was magnificent. No audio pops. Clear speaking voice. But it'd have to be a substantial improvement in content.

What about Sarah Knight’s performance did you like?

She's really perky. Like, she puts personality into her readings. I appreciate that.

What character would you cut from Get Your Sh*t Together?

N/A

Any additional comments?

I'd put this low, low on the list. I'm in full support of independent authors (You go Sarah!). This book though failed to deliver within the first quarter of the book. It fizzled, and so did I.

Hilarious

If you could sum up Get Your Sh*t Together in three words, what would they be?

Profane common sense

What other book might you compare Get Your Sh*t Together to and why?

I would love more like this one about getting things done when you don't think like the typicals.

What does Sarah Knight bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It's a snarky tone that keeps the info unboring.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laughed all day. It makes me want to clean more and do the crappy stuff that is so annoying.

Any additional comments?

You'll hate it if you cringe at cussing. She has no filter on and that's really hilarious if you have Asperger's or a dry sense of humor.

Not what I thought it would be

This was more of a pep talk..geared towards 20 something's. I did not learn anything new..no "ah-ha magic moments. I must say that it was entertaining though.

I wanted to love this book.....

I did find some valuable takeaway lessons from this book, but overall, I just became annoying.

I'm in a different place in my life I think, I am a parent and a business owner, I really wanted to love this book, but for me it just wasn't.

I picked up another book by Jen Sincero called "You Are a Badass" and that book has really resonated with me.

Out of touch with reality.

This woman is so out of touch with reality. Her initial thoughts include explains how she was stuck at her corporate job being so miserable and making a plan to move to the Caribbean. So she sells her apartment in Brooklyn to fulfill her dream. Here’s the thing. Some people just struggle to get paid minimum wages and put food on the tables. I have zero sympathy. All of this is just in the first two chapters. Profanity was not the issue. I have a elaborate and extensive profanity vocabulary. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Basically, do important stuff first.

Although somewhat entertaining, the general premise of the book is that we should do important stuff first using to-do lists. Some of the anecdotes are fun, but then she randomly goes into social political commentary which was annoying.

Amazing

I loved it from start to finish and plan to listen to it again. Her voice was comforting, real and logical. I appreciate that she shared stories from her own life, which makes this book seem even more real. I highly recommend this to anyone who may need a push in the direction of getting their sh*t together. ♡♡♡

A Generous Two Stars.

First off, I'm giving this book a generous two stars. The Alvin and the Chipmunks metaphor was both creative and effective. Her points on prioritization of your daily schedule and time management are spot on. However, that's not enough to redeem the book. Or even make it readable.

This book is the epitome of why I have such disdain for self help books. Everything from the title to the overall, blatant, tone of the book is elitist and condescending. She treats the reader as if they're someone who entirely incapable of getting their life on track. Regardless of who reads the book, she is better than them and she wants you to know it.

So, if you enjoy being treated like an impetuous child and love being talked down to, this is the perfect book for you. If not, fear not, there are far better books out there where the author will actually treat you with the respect that you deserve.

Nothing new at all to ppl w/ half a brain.

Full of popculture references to rehash obvious explanations to very vague issues.
If you're looking for a self help thing, stick to Untethered Soul.

Getting my Sh*t Together est. 1988

This sh*t fell into my lap (not figuratively) at the right moment in my life. I was in a downward spiral and felt like a Debbie-downer (sorry Deb, I still heart you). I was lost. I didn't know who I was anymore or what I wanted in life or even for breakfast for that matter (quarter-life crisis, maybe).

ANYWAYS, long story even longer, I listened to this on the way to work. Humor in the morning goes a long way, especially in rush hour traffic. Made my drive much more enjoyable and really made me consider moving to the Dominican Republic (hey Sarah, looking for a room mate?!). Back to reality, I had to get my sh*t together and this book really nailed it on the buckaroo (what?!).

No, this book doesn't give you to the answers to lives mysteries and doesn't tell you to wear matching socks... but GUESS WHAT. I have my keys (check), my wallet (check), and my cell phone (hello? Check) in check. Bank account... check mate. That's different story and possibly a great opportunity to read her other book.

With all the mumble jumbo, worth the read / the listen (whatever you're into, judgement free zone here).
