'Getting Started in Options' is just that

This is a book full of examples to help describe the 'Options' trading. Although the concept of option trading is somewhat simple, but the terminology used can be confusing. After listening to this audio book, I'm looking to purchase the printed version as well in order to see the examples and highlight the sections that I'll need to use as a reference. I highly recommend this book, preferably the printed version.

    Good information, but TOO abridged

This was a good listen. The speaker was clear and well articulated and the information was good. Unfortunately the abridged version is simply TOO abridged. I finished listening to the book in a few drives to work and back and was thinking that it was just STARTING when it was over! The material as presented seems more of a preface than a book.

I would not recommend this as your monthly book if you are trying to stick to the Basic Membership of one book per month. I'm trying not to go over that limit and so having a book this brief was disappointing.

A good introduction to stock options

I thought this book was a good introduction to stock options. It's not long, but it covers the basics.

This book does not cover strategy. If you plan to invest in options this is a good starter but it won't teach you everything you know to successfully invest in options.

If you already understand the fundamentals of options then this book is probably a little too fundamental for you.

I have experience in stocks, and understand the basics of margin investing, short selling, and similar topics. I did not have much knowledge of options - so in my case this book was right at my level.

I have supplemented this book with another that covers option strategies but assumes the reader knows the basics.

    It's about getting started.

The title "Getting Started in Options" explains exactly what it is - and it's a fantastic first introduction.

    A well-titled book, a good first intro

I found this a good entry point to the subject. I like the clarity and logic of the explanations -- a sort of walk through facets of simplified trader-logic. However, it is only a beginning, and after learning this I would not "get started" in the sense of tossing myself to the tender mercies of counter-parties who know the more modern math tools to create the other side of deals. Continuing the learning curve about that, I am happy to see at audible a nice popularization to start on, "Pricing the Future: Finance, Physics, and the 300-Year Journey to the Black-Scholes Equation".

    "where's the beef"?

This thing JUST gets started (I know the name) but still...it has nothing except a very basic intro to optoins. It was worth the 7.00 however...but look elsewhere if you already know even the most basic about options.

    Options 101

Very, very basic, and not much more. Disappointing.

    Very basic.

The book is very basic. It only covers generally theory and does not cover any strategy in the least bit.

    Too basic and dated

If you just want to know the basic ideas and not actually trade options this book might be ok. If you plan to trade options pick another book. Narrated well.
