CAS

They call me Ghost for a reason. Silent and in the shadows, I don't make my move until I am absolutely sure of everything. Four years ago I was sure about Jenna. My best friend's kid sister had grown up into a spitfire I couldn't resist. One night we stopped resisting.

We promised we'd keep it a secret. It was a one-time mistake, but we'd put it behind us. Jenna left but I kept my word. Jenna tried to get out of our corrupt town, but it pulled her back in again. Now she needs help. She needs protection. I'll do all of that for her, if she'll just shut the hell up and let me. She can even keep all of her secrets, except for one....

JENNA

The Lords of Carnage MC has haunted me from the moment I was born. No matter how much I try to get away, they are there - waiting to pull me back into the life that stole my father, my mother, and then my brother from me. The ghosts of my past keep rising from the dead. Now the past is stirring again, and all I want to do is run away. I'm back in the world I fled, and the secrets and lies of my whole family are about to be laid bare. But it's not just me anymore. I've got my little boy to look out for, too. I'm his only family. And his father has no idea he exists.

I swore I would never go back to the MC. I swore I would never make the same mistakes again. But making mistakes with Casper Watkins is too hard to resist....

Contains mature themes.

It was ok

Troy Duran is amazing, I’m not the biggest fan of Jillian Macie, to me she has too much of a “little girl” voice for the this role. The story was ok for a quick free read, it’s a simple “love” story.

Good Story

I enjoyed this book. First time author. I loved Ghost character. The heroine was a bit annoying. But I loved the storyline and the narrators

Flat characters and more

All in all, Ghost is a decent book.

What I was really missing was character development!
Not a lot was put into making the characters have in-depth character traits, and were honestly rather flat. The story had potential, but seemed superficial. There were no dynamic relationships that went back and forth, and it seemed like you were just meant to accept "oh, so this is happening now". Besides, it was pretty predictable. And the Iron Spiders? Why didn't we hear more about them? There was a real potential there.

Now, for the narrators:
Troy Duran did what he could with the flat character he was given. It was probably the best part of the story, but a shame to have such a good narrator talk for a mediocre character. The not-too-obvious emotions were there as always, and he did a fine job!
Jillian Macie was too slow. It felt like she was sleepy the entire time, and it really slowed down the pace of a supposedly exciting book, which ruined it for me - and considering she has the most chapters, this part is important.

SPOILER:
She got over the murder too quickly. Seemed unrealistic. And her fear about Noah being Casper's child were exaggerated, so it actually made me frustrated with her in a way that did not compliment the story.

Horrible Female Narrator!

Good story. Love Troy Duran’s voice so why would you ruin it with such a bad female narrator? That nasally, 14 year old voice just ruined the story. I wish you could rate the performance individually. Kinda not fair to Troy to pair him with such a bad narrator.

❤️❤️❤️

New author for me. This was rather wholesome, for a MC romance, and refreshing. Really enjoyed this 🥰

Jenna and Ghost/Casper

This book was really good. Jillian Macie did a good job but Troy Duran was outstanding. He is one of my favorite narrators. There was romance as well as suspense. At first I found Jenna a bit annoying but by the end, I was rooting for her and Ghost. The second half of the book really takes off. Jenna and Angel's father was a piece of work, along with her disgusting landlord. There was a murder that was kind of glossed over. What did the MC do with the body? I think I will follow the series. Looking forward to Angel's story, which is further in the series.

Not sure.....

I like the story as a fun distraction. The plot was basically a small side story without being very well used. I'm not a prude and liked the sexual portion of the story, but if you don't like the "p" word and I don't, you will hear it alot. kinda of a mood killer personally. lastly I do not like the way the female narrator drags out the last word of every sentence. annoying. lol

Cas and Jenna

I have read this story over and over but listening to it brings it to a whole other level. I loved it. Ghost is an intriguing, entertaining and heartwarming second chance romance mixed with the thrills of an MC. I enjoyed every second of this story. Troy Duran and Jillian Macie did a fantastic job bringing these wonderful characters to life.

Performance makes it...

In all honesty the performance is the best part of this book. That, and the sex scenes. Obviously, no one is reading a romance novel expecting a flawless plot line, but for being an MC book, I expected more from the storyline. Jenna is infuriatingly stubborn. I understand wanting to take care of yourself and not asking for help, but she's one step away from homelessness and still tries to reject all help offered. When her brother offers her a job, she turns it down like she is in a position to do so. Aside from that, I found the plot incredibly lacking. *slight spoilers* Jenna's dad, the mayor, gets caught making dirty dealings he can't back, has a rival MC after him, he skips town, the end. That's it. The only other storyline is that Jenna's landlord is creepy and she discovers he's been spying on her sending info to the rival MC that's after her dad. In both of these situations, nothing comes of the conflict. It's revealed, then moved past. Many of these books, especially MC/Mafia types, have engaging, mystery/thriller-esque plots, but the most conflict in this one was Jenna's internal debate every 5 minutes whether or not to tell Cas he's Noah's father.
