Publisher's Summary
Langley Vaughn is in desperate need of a date. But not just any date. She's looking for a date to the wedding from hell. It isn't every day you're forced to be in the bridal party while your first love marries your archnemesis...otherwise known as the world's worst stepsister. The entire situation is a nightmare, and Langley is sick and tired of taking orders and forcing a fake smile. She needs to find a date who's not afraid of her family's money...someone willing to shake things up. Someone ready to go to war with the well-to-do. She needs someone who won't back down.
Iker Alvarez would do anything and everything to get his hands on some quick cash. Thank goodness for a desperate, pretty little rich girl with too much money and her heart set on an outrageous scheme. Being in the right place at the right time might just be the answer to both of their prayers - and this smart soldier has never let a golden opportunity slide by. Only, he didn't plan on liking the blonde socialite as much as he does. He is totally unprepared for the pull he feels toward her, coupled with his growing desire to protect her from the vultures and villains living under the same roof. He knows he isn't the guy Langley can count on in the long run, but damn, if he doesn't want to do everything in his power to be that man.
Contains mature themes.

Rich people problems & a cliffhanger with no HEA
I wasn’t prepared for the level of angst and preposterous behavior from Langley’s entire Uber-rich family and friends. Her step-sister, step-mom, and former flame were beyond petty, and her dad beyond oblivious. This would all have been easier to take with humor. Unfortunately, this was all sweet romance and no comedy.
On the plus side, although I worried that Iker taking $10,000 to be Langley’s wedding date would make him a skeezy conman, he was nothing but honorable. Well, except for the ending, where Iker the military man couldn’t nut up and give her an honest explanation to her face. But, I liked Iker far more than Langley, who from the first page to the last let everyone walk all over her.
Which brings me to the other frustration: this is half of a book. Bought on sale for $3 it’ll be okay if part two goes on sale soon. But, I think it’s a ridiculous money grab to break up a 10 hour book like this. I will only get part two when (if?) it goes on sale… and I really hope Langley grows a spine and we see more fun and fireworks.
The sexy time was well written, especially when Harding was narrating (sadly he was 20% to Willingham’s 80%). There’s really only a single scene at each base, which is about right for five hours.
I think I’d have rated this 4 stars “great” with a little more fun and if it was sold as a complete book.

This one tugged at my heart just enough!! 💗💗
I wasn't going to write a review as I'm sort of over that with so many audibles in my library. But every now and then you listen to one that you just want to share your thoughts like this one. Girl in luv is not your typically written I need a date for a wedding to get my family off my back and the wedding is my awful stepsister, and an awful stepmother and so on. Oh It is about that and so much more, especially if you're a fan of J. F. Harding. He narrates with so much emotion and (swoon) that you can't help but get engrossed in his voice. Its lovely and romantic to me. He's always a choice when I see his name. I wish he'd narrate more. I don't like to rewrite what the story is about so I won't say much more other than I enjoyed this too short romance that started off as a fake wedding date and turned into more...And, there's a cliffhanger, book 2.... . I need my HEA as soon as possible but on the flipside, the next book in this short series better have J.F. narrating again. He was so passionate as usual. I've not listened to Sofia Willingham often and definitely will again should the opportunity arise, and they were good together. I enjoyed the story, the drama surrounding the characters and the narrators. I only hope its not a long period of time in between the books to complete the series. If its too long I sometimes forget the original storyline and hate when that happens...But Enjoy!💓💓

Not a good ending
This was supposed to be HEA! It left you wondering. They found true love. I just never got back to it. Did he die? Being married to a former military man I look for happy endings.

In Luv-Wrong Time
Enjoyed this book. Hate that it is a 2 part story though. Feel like it could have been a little longer in order to get the ending. Langley has a lot of misfortune when it comes to love and the wicked step mom and sister. Believe she has let most of it happen due to not stepping up for herself instead of always keeping the peace. Iker changes tghat perspective for her and helps make her realize she is worth and can do more.

File Under: “Bargain Bin Romance” = True Title
I bought this as a quick-read discounted deal, so I’d say it wasn’t bad for $1 (LOL), but not worth an entire credit (if you have a choice).
The writing is quite average, with some really terrible mixed metaphors and cliche banalities used throughout. But we aren’t here for pretty letters, are we?
The romance is good. I’m not used to narratives with a caring dad (are they even real??), but I loved that part of this story. And while the rich girl and hot, Latin lover might make for a cringy, outdated storyline—well, this one managed to be a bit sweet. I have to say that I was pleased with the end, and I hope the good guy stays good.

New authors for me. This was a nice military ❤️ listen, full of sweet moments, a bit of heat, good ole family drama, and a healthy dose of overthinking things.

Spoiler alert. This is book one of 2
Because of the ending, you have to buy the second. The endings in real life often suck but I buy the books. I don’t really want them to end like this one. I’m promised that the next one ends well. Guess I’ll find out.
