Publisher's Summary

The goblin horde is coming, driven by a dark Sorcerer eager to drive the dwarven race into extinction.

Reborn as a dungeon core inside a fabled gem known as the Brisingstone, Bowen vows to use this new life to protect what is left of his people and avenge those who could not be saved.

With new-found powers, Bowen learns to create golems of stone and clay to act on his behalf. With half-remembered mining skills, Bowen rekindles the forge of his ancestors and, under the guidance of his new Dungeon fairy, teaches his golems to create metal automatons of war.

In a race against time, Bowen and Freya, his new dungeon fairy, must fend off incursion, rescue survivors and defend the dwarfish homeland. Because if they fail...the dwarves will be no more.

Not horrible

Story: 8/10, It was interesting enough, the characters a bit cliche but that is common in the genre. LitRPG Elements: 7/10, many of the elements seemed copied from other books, While few systems are truly unique this felt copied rather then a parallel evolution, (likely from the God Core series) Dialog: 5/10, It was the weakest part of the book in my opinion. The characters need to keep some constancy. They kept bouncing between fantasy phrasings and modern phrasings, which made the to primary characters seem like LARPers who can't keep their role straight. And while I appreciate diversity in how something is worded, it often reads like the MC ate a thesaurus, and is spitting out random words. Dungeon Core: 6/10, As a Dungeon core, it was pretty middling, the author has the MC skipping over details far to much. Or has the reason for doing something be, the Fairy told me to do it, The Fairy says there is a Rule, or I Had a dream. while those elements are common they're reasoning is rarely explained. I did appreciate that the stats were kept to their own part of the chapter and not repeatedly used in a chapter. Audible Narration: 8/10, Miles does a great job, but kept dropping out of the Dwarven (American Scottish) accent at weird places.
