À propos de cet audio

Charlaine Harris writes bestselling mysteries described by Booklist as “gripping and spicy.” Grave Sight draws listeners into the intriguing world of Harper Connelly, a young woman with a unique gift: she can “see” the dead and how they died.

A teenage girl missing from a small Ozarks town may have been murdered. Hired by local police, Harper locates the girl’s body in a nearby forest. But there’s more than one corpse in those woods, and the second one leads the police to unfortunate conclusions. Soon Harper and her assistant, her stepbrother Tolliver, are under suspicion. All they want is to get paid and get out of town, but they will have to clear their names first.

The layers of intrigue quickly draw listeners into Grave Sight’s spell, and the surprising conclusion is sure to leave them eager for more of Harper’s cases.

“Harris delivers a knuckle-gnawing tale populated with well-developed, albeit edgy characters. A nifty puzzle toward the end will challenge the most jaded mystery buffs.”—Publishers Weekly

Ms. Harris might be most famously known for her Sookie Stackhouse novels, which were the original material for the TRUE BLOOD television series. This is the first novel in a series about Harper Connelly: a young southern woman who was struck by lightning and now can see how people died: not by whom, just the how of it. In a small Arkansas town her and her stepbrother assistant run afoul of a murder plot that’s pretty damn Shakespearean by the time it’s solved.

The characters are solid, the narration by Ms. Bresnahan is excellent, and the mystery has an interesting resolution. There’s more than a few incestuous vibes along the way, but not enough to fully make you want to stop reading…take that more as a mild trigger warning, if anything. The denouement is a little trite, but it sets you up to definitely want to move on to the second instalment.

Fun intro to a new character!

Narrators voice sounds much too old for the main character making it hard to get into the story. I knew this would be the case from the sample however I have wanted to finish this series for a while now so I endured (with great difficulty). Love Harris's writing as always and the story line.

Narrator is a bad choice for this series.

The narrator was delightful voiced the whole book really well. Love the tempo. There is a hint of sex taking place but nothing grafic. I loved Sookie Stackhouse and as a result I have listened to more books by Charlaine Harris.

All of them are good but Sookie was and is always my favorite.

Loved it!

I thought this book was going to be interesting, but nope! I was so bored I started skipping chapters.

The narrator didn’t do any better in making this story better.

Boring

I didn't like the drama and no ghost story. It had what people do everyday kinda vibe.
