She has two teenage boys and bills to pay, plus the only man she’s ever been with has traded her in for a gym bunny. Smiles, laughs and a sweet romance!
Just finished this smile and laugh-inducing story and what a treat it was! I listen to a wide variety of audiobooks - many of the stories quite dark - and have found that following up with a book like this is a great re-set and mood enhancer. The story revolves around Kit - a cute, kind, quick-witted librarian (a/k/a/ lesbian catnip) who moves to the British island of Greengage, where she encounters lots of of quirky characters and an especially attractive woman named Laura - a local businesswoman beloved in the community. But Laura - though the ideal woman in Kit's mind - isn't free (or a lesbian, that she knows of) and Kit is determined push down her feelings as their friendship evolves. This is a very sweet, fun and satisfying slow burn romance that hits all the right spots. There are a good number of characters in this book and narrator Wendy Wolfson does an excellent job of bringing them all to life. I'm excited to know that there is a follow-up novella - Greengage Holiday Cheer - and another full length novel - Greengage Shelf - in this series. Not sure if Shelf will be released on audio, but I sure hope so. Regardless, I am ALL IN on this series and definitely plan to read more of Sterner-Radley's work. Give this one a listen - you'll be glad you did!

Interesting plot
I probably would not call this book a romantic comedy, I didn’t laugh once while listening to this book. Some of the plot was far fetched, but it was not bad. I didn’t care for the narration, Wendy Wolfson read OK I usually love British narrators, but she was a bit too boring , or maybe bored?

Spontaneously funny!
You know when you are picking out a funny card and start laughing in the aisles? Everyone starts looking at you strange but you can’t stop laughing? That was me listening to this story! It was a wonderful combination of humor, romance and finding home. Highly recommend this! The narration though slow to start ended up capturing the mannerism and style of life on Greengage PERFECTLY! This is definitely a re-listen story!!

I highly recommend this author and all of her books. If you are looking for a hilarious storyline and great characters, then this book is for you. You will need some tissue to dry your tears, when you start crying from laughing so hard. I liked the narrator she really brought the characters to life. This is a good rom com story, quirky villagers and likable characters. Can’t wait to get book 2.

The storyline was well crafted. The characters were interesting and the story peppered with humor. I would love to visit this island and meet the inhabitants. For sure, I want to see the kitten races! A very enjoyable read/listen.
