Publisher's Summary

Dr. Carly Cambridge, wildlife biologist, returns to the Texas Gulf Coast to manage the latest Habitats for Nature project, restoring the woods and wetlands to their natural state. She is devoted to the environmental cause with a passion usually reserved for a lover - something she hasn't had since a disastrous love affair 10 years earlier. Having sworn off women and relationships, Carly is perfectly content to live her life alone while she focuses on her latest project.

Wildlife photographer Pat Ryan is duped into volunteering her talents to the Habitats For Nature cause, but she wants no part of the overzealous Dr. Cambridge.

While they spend most of their time sparring and bickering, an early season hurricane finds them fighting nature - instead of each other - to save the wetlands and the birds that brought them together.

Soon Carly finds her heart opening, little by little, and struggles to ignore the feelings that are growing between them. And Pat, always searching for that certain someone to take her breath away, can't believe for a moment that the woman she's been waiting for could possibly be Carly.

Love can happen unexpectedly!

I believe that if a story leaves you wondering how the characters are doing well after you have finished the story, then it is indeed a good book a story well told. Gerri Hill writes a good story and Abby Craden takes it to the next level.
personally I would like to see a book or two be turned into a mini series but that is mostly because it is hard to say goodbye when the story is done.

Abby Craden + Gerri Hill = buy every time!

This was a really fun story. Light and lighthearted. The back and forth between the two MCs had me laughing out loud. And, let me tell you, Abby Craden has ruined me for almost all other narrators! She does such a phenomenal job portraying the characters. I have a hard time now, listening to a book if she’s not narrating. Abby Craden, would you please narrate my life? And all my favorite lesbian romances? Please!

Too little story, too much groping

I was hopeful at beginning of story that would be more of a story, but it devolved into endless groping and vicarious sex for the listener. I was looking for nice full story but most 'erotica' which is like being fly on ceiling while other people having sex. No thanks.

A Gulf Romance

I love stories based in the wonders of nature. Carly is restoring a natural habitat on the Gulf. Pat is a wild life photographer volunteered by her aunt to help photograph the project for fundraising brochures. It love at first sight. Great performance and story. Recommend.

By the time they get there, you already don't care

So a woman in her 30th with an old trauma, that she never went to therapy for, is waisting a reader's time on trying to decide if she should love again. She could have decided much sooner, but the story is stretched out, and not in an exciting way. The heroines constantly get interrupted and not in creative ways. Otherwise - a very easy read.

great read Gerri Hill is on the top of my list.

I'll keep reading as long as she keeps writing. She has many views of the life.

A winning combination

A wonderful story, well written by one of the best lesbian writers and an amazing narration by one of the best narrators (if not the best one). What can you ask for more...
Yes you guessed it, I loved this book.
