Publisher's Summary
An original novella set in the Halo Universe and based on the New York Times best-selling video game series!
Find. Claim. Profit.
In a postwar galaxy littered with scrap, it's the salvager's motto. And with a fast ship and a lust for adventure, Rion Forge has certainly made her mark on the trade. When the discovery of a wrecked UNSC cruiser brings Rion's past back to haunt her, stirring fresh hope into a decades-old wound, she's hell-bent on finding answers: What really happened to her father and his ship, the Spirit of Fire? This novella also contains the complete text of Kelly Gay's short story "Into the Fire", originally featured in the collection Halo: Fractures.

Good story but annoying narrator.
Scott Brick is usually one of my favourite narrators but it was really heard to listen to him mispronounce Rion Forges' name constantly. Rion is pronounced like Ryan but he kept referring to her are Rioune. That kind of killed the story for me.

A damn good Gap filler
short and sweet I just want to say that this book not only explained a lot of missing things with both Halo Wars and with the newer Halo series with four and five but it connected the two finally and further got me hyped for a future title that my return to a Halo game with more of a Halo feel and that is ultimately what everybody wants whether they know it or not. Thanks Audible and thank you to everyone else that helped make this happen!

disappointing
I listen to Halo books for interesting concepts and action. this one is short on those and long on emotional angst and the sort of stuff that used to be in the harlequin bodice ripper genre. neither uplifting nor interesting I'm sorry I took the time to listen 😝
