Publisher's Summary

Six months in the Deep Dark. Four different women. One man discovers what it means to be a spacer.

It's a time of change on the Lois McKendrick. Sarah Krugg joins the crew, and Ishmael Wang moves to Environmental. After getting accustomed to life aboard a solar clipper, Ishmael must learn a whole new set of skills, face his own fears and doubts, and try to balance love and loss in the depths of space.

Both Ishmael and Sarah must learn to live by the mantra "trust Lois". For Sarah, there is the hope of escaping a horrifying past. For Ishmael, he must discover what type of man he wants to become and learn his choices have consequences.

Return with the crew of the SC Lois McKendrick, and set sail in the next installment of the Trader's Tales from the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper. All your favorites return: Ish, Pip, Cookie, Brill, Diane, and Big Bad Bev. You might even discover some new friends as you travel among the stars.

Unexpectedly Wonderful

I usually gravitate towards action, military, zombie, sci-fi and the like.
These books have got me hooked.
Give them a listen. All around great!

Not like the first book

Instead other the first books "ordinary guy doing ordinary work on a spaceship", Ishmael is suddenly wise beyond his years, totally ripped, and the object of desire of every woman who crosses his path. This so pronounced it became distracting, and really pulled me out of the story.

What a load of rubbish!

I enjoyed quarter share and expected a similar book in Half Share, Instead, the second book is a juvenile voyeur story about a young man who, apparently, is every woman’s fantasy boyfriend. It is truly idiotic and I cannot imagine who the target audience is intended to be, except it certainly is not me!

Not as good as the first book.

This books trends away from the first by becoming more focused on the Main Character and seem to give him attributes that were not included in the first book. The character development seemed to be a bit forced and un-natural.

Minor Spoiler -

In the first book Ishmael was portrayed as a lone wolf that was unable to form friendships with his peers, with the exception of one girl from his childhood. In this book he buys magic clothes and is suddenly the object of sexual desire from every female character in the book, with one exception. Earns the respect, trust and well wishes from every male peer, and seems to absorb the sills and abilities that his friends from the first books had, that he didn't. I hope this was just an experiment, and that future books get back to Ish's main 'power' being bringing out the best in his friends, and being a quick study.
