Publisher's Summary

“Whimsical, witty, and brimming over with charm” (India Holton), Olivia Atwater’s delightful debut will transport you to a magical version of Regency England, where the only thing more meddlesome than a fairy is a marriage-minded mother!

It’s difficult to find a husband in Regency England when you’re a young lady with only half a soul.

Ever since she was cursed by a faerie, Theodora Ettings has had no sense of fear or embarrassment—an unfortunate condition that leaves her prone to accidental scandal. Dora hopes to be a quiet, sensible wallflower during the London Season—but when Elias Wilder, the strange, handsome, and utterly ill-mannered Lord Sorcier, discovers her condition, she is instead drawn into peculiar and dangerous faerie affairs.

If her reputation can survive both her curse and her sudden connection with the least-liked man in all high society, then she and her family may yet reclaim their normal place in the world. But the longer Dora spends with Elias, the more she begins to suspect that one may indeed fall in love even with only half a soul.

Madeleine Leslay and Olivia Atwater — I need more.

I have already read "Half a Soul" and "Ten Thousand Stitches". I was in a depressive slump and decided to listen to the audible books, and wow, it was such a treat!

I'm a forever fan. Thank you for producing wonderful, whimsical tales that are a much-needed respite in this chaotic world. ♥

Beautiful story

The story is beautiful and intriguing. the world building is effortless and complex. it has themes of anti-ableism, anti-war, equality, human rights and anti-wealth inequity. It was described ato be as fairylore mixed with pride and prejudice. it has a similar humour infused within it. The main character Dora is " neurodiverse" (half a soul) and with those characteristics she finds love, stops an evil and is beloved. highly recommend

entertaining, couldn't stop listening

This story, taking place in an England that incorporates Magic and the Fae, captivated me and was entertaining. I enjoyed the interesting characters and was impressed with the wide scope of issues that they had to deal with (PTSD, war, class/cast problems, finding their identity despite the pressure of expectations from those around them, trying to honor other living beings and work for justice...) The author displayed knowledge of what life was like for the different classes in London at that time. (I had not expected much historical accuracy when I picked up this audiobook.) A huge shout out to the narrator: amazing job!! I'm looking forward to listening to more stories from this author.
