Story
Growing up, the three of us were friends. He was the nerd. I was the playboy. She was the beauty. Deep down, I only ever wanted her. I kept it inside because Rory and I made a pact that our friend, Amber, was off-limits. He lied. I went off to college, and he got the girl. Amber never knew how I felt. They were together for years - before he broke her heart. Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch. When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.

Story
What do you do when a sexy older man moves into your family’s summer rental? Well, apparently, you make a fool of yourself - over and over. Things didn’t exactly get off on the right foot with Noah Cavallari. Our first encounter was embarrassing, to say the least. But despite that, I found myself waking up every day with a newfound energy. Nothing exciting ever happened on the lake - not until Noah moved into the small boathouse on our property. When my mother became ill, I inherited the responsibility of making sure our guests were well taken care of.

Story
Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the suitcase exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark. He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. So what did I do to repay him for his kindness? I waited until he was in the shower, then ghosted him.

Story
The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

It was the summer of my life. I’d met the guy of my dreams. Unfortunately, he was the son of my uppity employer - and very much off-limits. But Gavin was a rebel. He knew his mother would disown him if she found out about us; in his eyes, we just had to be careful. He never treated me as his mother did - like hired help. Instead, Gavin put me on a pedestal and loved me harder than I’d ever been loved in my life.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

Finding a good roommate through a classified ad isn’t as easy as it sounds. I was starting to lose hope. Until a knock at my door came, and God answered my prayers. Except...uh...wrong prayer, God. I’d definitely requested the big guy find me a drop-dead gorgeous man on more than one occasion...just not as my roommate. Declan Tate talked me into interviewing him anyway. While he was amusing and charismatic, I wouldn’t have been comfortable living with a man, so I regretfully declined. Then, cupcakes showed up at my door.

The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar. Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born. Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day - when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.

It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

I’d never forgotten him - a man I’d yet to meet. Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break. Until one day, it did. Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one - one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing. Griffin forgave me, and we were able to rekindle our childhood connection.

It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview. Well, technically, I’d met him 20 minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment. I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut. As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss. Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought.... Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.

When I first encountered Ford Donovan, I had no idea who he was...well, other than the obvious. Young, gorgeous, successful, smart. Did I mention young? If I did, it bears repeating. Ford Donovan was too young for me. Let’s back up to how it all started. My best friend decided I needed to start dating again. So, without my knowledge, she set up a profile for me on a popular dating site - one that invited men ages 21 to 27 to apply for a date.

We met in the least likely of places. It started out innocently enough. I was “ScreenGod”, and she was “Montana”, but of course those weren’t our actual names, just the virtual cloaks we hid behind. Logging in at night and talking to her was my escape - my sanctuary. Her real name was Eden, I’d soon come to find out. From the first time we connected online, I found myself transfixed. She was an addiction. At first, we knew nothing about each other’s real identities...and she was adamant that we keep things that way.

Hockey star Max Yearwood was everything I needed at the time - fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months, since he’d signed with a new team 3,000 miles away. I'm writing this letter because it's highly doubtful I'll ever garner the courage to say this to your face. So, here goes. We're totally wrong for each other. You're the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. I'm just the carefree British doctor passing through town and temporarily living in your converted garage until I head back to England. But here's the thing... for some bloody reason, I can't stop thinking about you in very inappropriate ways.

Publisher's Summary
An Amazon Charts bestseller.
From New York Times bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes a love story about taking chances and the surprises that come with them.
My love story all started with a letter.
Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for.
You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months.
So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far.
While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father. Her devastatingly handsome, single dad father.
I should have stopped playing fairy godmother then. I should have left well enough alone. But I just couldn’t help myself. I had a connection to this girl. One that had me acting irrationally.
Like when I showed up on their doorstep.

Surprisingly Perfect
When I purchased this audiobook I wasn't sure what to expect. From the moment I started listening, I was impressed with the storyline, the comedic moments and the seriousness of the various subject material this book took on. The actors' performances were very engaging. This is one book I will listen to several times.

Utterly delightful and fun
Nothing like a really good book, that ticks off everything on ones list. It almost reads like true fiction and definitely a smudge of comprehensive literature thrown in. Writing and editing skills devote to this story are quite noteworthy. Story above the average with no filler, well rounded characters, twists and turns of a roller coaster ride to a neat yet unexpected landing. And the foreshadowing was exquisite. Narrators are genuine actors, with the pull of every word spoken you lean in to hear. It’s a grand journey. Will definitely read this book over and over. Only thing, the title needed work, ridiculous title.

Same premise as Written With You Duet
I was disappointed because this book lacked originality. It's the same premise as Written With You...where the child plays a significant roll in bringing two people back together. Female narrator is also the same. I'm used to SY as a narrator and can adapt to his voice inflections for different characters, but the entire time I listened to this book, I couldn't get "The Day He Came Back" characters out of my head. Weldon's voice was present, as was Raven's, as was Mr. M's...I think different narrators could have lent some originality to this title. I had greater expectations for this book. Did not finish. Made it 3 hours in and tossed it back. Nothing held my attention.

A FEEL-GOOD, FUN, LIGHT & DELICIOUS SLOW-BURN
Dear Santa, thank you for feeling moved enough to fulfill a cute little girl’s touching wishes to be shown a sign that her late Mom is watching over her from Heaven, thank you for bringing a special person into her and her loving Dad’s life and thank you for showing their heart, their humor and their love. Okay, okay, I know it wasn’t actually you Santa, it was Columnist Sadie who felt drawn to a little girl’s letter to you, interfered, granted wishes and went out of her way to help. I know she stepped well over the line to make it happen for Birdie and that she eventually came clean to Birdie’s drool-worthy but angry Dad. I know it was a slow-burn because Sebastian (aka drool-worthy Dad) didn’t feel ready to move on (even though it’d been four years since his wife died) but there was just something about Sadie that pulled him in and their chemistry smouldered and sparked until he was eventually ready. Which made a delicious, beautiful, rewarding and heartwarming listen because Birdie and Sebastian’s lives were enriched by Sadie’s love.. and vice versa. And the clicking into place of the twist by Fate, Destiny or Amanda’s preplanned blessing was perfect. So Santa, this year can I please have more books expertly written by Vi and Penelope.. the mighty masterful dynamic duo. And would I be asking for too much if they could also be narrated by the much loved and very talented five star narrators Andi and Sebastian who always bring their characters, their emotions and their stumbling blocks to life.
WORTH A CREDIT? Yes definitely.. a charming, humorous, very entertaining and well-paced dual POV love story that has sweet.. and crazy.. and fun.. and touching.. and sexy.. and heartwarming scenes. And has great character growth too as an overstretched, protective, loving single Dad finally grabs his second-chance to love and HEA endings.

What a lovely read
It’s Hallmark Christmas story with some VERY steamy parts. Well, I guess there’s no quaint New England town as it’s set in NYC and there’s no power hungry executive, but there is a character who needs his heart melted and there’s a dog and child involved. So enough similarities none the less and likable characters, likable story line, tidy and pleasant ending. It’s no work of literary genius, but sometimes that’s not what one is looking for:-)

Love these authors, but this book felt like they needed to meet a deadline. If that’s the case,
than good job on hitting it, but unfortunately I don’t think it’s a winner. I won’t say anything bad, because I love these authors and performers so judge for yourself. You had to skip most of the book.

Cute, but a bit too much
This was an entertaining single parent/widower romance. I liked all the characters and it was very sweet, but I think all the coincidences together were a bit too much. Sadie's initial behavior (though well intentioned) was too stalkerish. I wasn't expecting to have to suspend disbelief quite so much with this book. Perhaps that was the point though, given the title and the big reveal/secret, but it just didn't work for me. The narration duo of Andi Arndt and Sebastian York is always enjoyable, but I would have liked it more if Sebastian had more chapters in the book. Sadie's behavior didn't seem to align with a 29 year old and I found Andi Arndt's performance well done, but also a bit too mature for the character. Overall, an enjoyable read/listen, but I didn't love it.

Chop sticks!
I don’t know if I’ve ever read a book with the same story line but I very much enjoyed this one! It was unique to me and very sweet! I would suggest!

so sweet
Omg such a sweet story. The beginning of it is pretty much a slow burn and at first I was thinking I could totally have done with orthotics the entire beginning but one should never underestimate the storytelling of this dynamic duo. The very long beginning does end up tying into the story and it then begins to make sense. It all starts when a little girl writes a letter to Santa in June to ask for something special for her dad… her dad who happens to be a widow; and the woman who answered her call. What I did not like was that it was awhile before you even meet the father and daughter so once they do, it felt a bit rushed. I felt that the relationship between Sadie and the little girl, Birdie was stronger than that of Sadie and Sebastian. However, when they finally came together it became a really sweet and heartfelt book. The heat factor rates 3. Comedic value… 3 ½. Romance… 3. Heartstrings… 5.
