Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author K. Bromberg is back with a heartfelt stand-alone romance and a new hero to steal your heart....

Lennox:

The contract with Major League Soccer was supposed to help repair my damaged reputation. Then I discovered that I’d made a deal with the devil: The player I’m supposed to recruit is none other than the bad-boy star Premier League footballer Rush McKenzie.

British. Tattooed. Sexy. A man currently at the center of a huge scandal.

The goal? To convince him to stay in the States.

But what’s wrong with a little fun in the meantime? No strings. No sweet nothings. Just a way to pass the time while we’re both struggling to prove our true selves to the world.

If someone found out our relationship was anything more than professional, it would only serve to prove all our critics right.

Rush:

I never should have agreed to take the fall. But I did, and I’m a man of my word.

Even if it means risking everything I’ve worked for.

The only bright side is Lennox Kincade.

Gorgeous. Defiant. Rumor-tainted. Totally off-limits.

Sharing a house with the gorgeous sports agent should have been a fun distraction from the turmoil. Someone to help pass the time while the tensions back home die down.

But what started as nothing ends up as something I never saw coming.

Romance Novel Perfection ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh man, was this book amazing!! I don’t take time to write a lot of reviews - I’m usually too busy trying to find my next book - but this story was so incredible, I just had to take a moment to praise it. I give it ALL THE STARS!!! Bromberg is one of my favorite authors and she simply outdid herself with this one! It was everything and more a romance novel should be. Beautifully written. A flawless mix of sexy and sweet, alluring yet relatable. Lennox and Rush were a perfect fit for each other and it was a pleasure to take this ride to their HEA with them. I was rooting for them the entire time, invested in the outcome. Very likable main characters - damaged but lovable, and both good to their cores, both worthy of finding their happy ending. Great side characters as well. I also personally enjoy a sports romance...and what’s not to love about a gorgeous, talented and loyal British footballer who meets his match in a sexy, strong sports agent with a heart of gold! If stories this top-notch were released everyday, I’d never accomplish anything in life...completely swept me away! The narration was excellent - and I could listen to Shane East’s sexy British accent all day, everyday. Basically, this was romance novel magic! Best use of a credit, ever!!!

Incredible listen, fantastic story!

Rush is a cocky British footballer in the US to lay low from controversy.
Lennox is a restless sports agent struggling with self-confidence.
Lennox talks about Rush’s magnetism but that is nothing compared to the chemistry between these two characters.

The parts that I love most about this story were that both characters took a hit to their careers but they were able to support each other and help rebuild confidence. Even though they were both dropped into each other's lives, the mutual admiration that developed was incredible. Let’s not forget the heat these two shared … holy hotness it was off the charts.

I also felt a connection to Lennox; a woman working in a male-dominated industry and defying stereotypes. She is seeking her place with family, relationships, and in her career. The internal confident struggles felt very authentic and relatable.

Let's not forget Shane East and Vanessa Edwin .... they made a fantastic story an incredible listen!

Hard to Hold is book 2 in the Play Hard series and can be read as a standalone.

💕Rush💕

Ohmigosh my heart breaks for 15 year old Rush. A kid all alone fending for himself & just wanting to be loved. Our past experiences mold us and what an experience he has to draw from. His past has given him a strong work ethic, moral compass and bond with Rory that he will do anything to protect.

Lennox finds herself on the flip side of that moral compass—according to Rush’s slimy agent Finn. After he makes less than favorable comment about her she finds herself lost and visits her bestie to get centered again.

Rush & Lennox hit it off from the start. They are so good together—as friends, coworkers & lovers. They just complete each other. Rush finally finds his person who will fight for him no matter what🥰

💗Swoon worthy quote💗
He gives me the softest of smiles—shy but serious. “McKenzie never meant anything to me, Nox. It was a name given to me by a man I never met. But I made it into something. I made me into something . . . and yes, we don’t need any of that shit, but it would mean everything to me if you were proud to be a McKenzie with me.”

Enjoyed...but the first book was better

I’m definitely enjoying this series’s but this book didn’t captivate me like Hard to Handle. Shane East narrated and I wish there were more books for him to narrate. I’m definitely invested to ride the series out just not my favorite.

Wow! This is worth the time and attention every romantic reader/ listener wants in a story.
Top notch narration. Shane East and Vanessa Edwin out did themselves. Hats off to K. Bromberg for the story as well.
Congratulations for what I consider one of her best efforts as an author. Looking forward to her next book in the Hard to Hold series.

Outstanding story and narration

Having read the first book in this series I couldn’t wait to dive in to Hard to Hold. This book ticked all the boxes for me and I was hooked from the first to the last chapter and had a hard time putting it down.
I really loved Lennox Kincade and Rush McKenzie. Usually it is the woman who wants to settle down but Lennox is not your typical woman, she as ell as Rush are more the love them and leave them types. However, when these two get together, sparks will fly and the chemistry and attraction will sizzle between them.
Escaping to LA after a scandal rocks his world, Rush is in need of positive publicity. I loved how feisty and sassy Lennox is. Despite beginning to doubt herself she really isn’t afraid to stand up for what or who she wants or believes in and I fell hard and fast for Rush.
The journey for Lennox and Rush will be rocky, but if they can work on their relationship they will get the happily ever after that they both deserve.
This book has it all; steam, spice, angst and was well written with characters whose story you cannot help but become invested in.
Shane East and Vanessa Edwin did an outstanding job bringing this story to life and their narration was spot on.

Kristy Bromberg Never Disappoints

Kristy has added another wonderful love story to her amazing catalog of books. I’m really enjoying the sports series. I loved Lennox and Knox’s story. They were an improbable match but somehow it just worked.
I am constantly amazed at the storylines that Kristy creates. She is such a talented and creative writer who captures real emotions, challenges, love and pain and weaves them into her books with such ease. I’ve never been disappointed by a book written by Kristy Bromberg. This one joins that list.

soooo good

rush and Lennox have a beautiful story. Kristy is one of those few authors that can pull you in from the first word and this story was no different. I can't wait to see how the other 2 sisters story unfolds. but by far she writes the BEST dads in her stories. Kenyon is an amazing character that you can feel his deep bear hugs through the pages.
