Story
The man most hated by the LAPD - a black lawyer who has made his name by bringing lawsuits alleging racism and brutality by police officers - has been found murdered on the eve of a high-profile trial. The list of suspects includes half the police force. And Harry Bosch is the detective chosen to head the investigation. The political dangers of the case are huge. If it's not investigated fairly, the public outcry could make the Rodney King riots look tame. But a full investigation will take Bosch into the ugliest corners of law enforcement.

Publisher's Summary
This audiobook includes the following award-winning Harry Bosch thrillers, all voiced by standout Broadway veteran Len Cariou:
The Narrows (AudioFile magazine Earphones Award Winner): FBI agent Rachel Walling finally gets the call she's dreaded for years, the one that tells her the Poet has surfaced. She has never forgotten the serial killer who wove lines of poetry in his hideous crimes - and apparently he has not forgotten her. Former LAPD detective Harry Bosch gets a call, too - from the widow of an old friend. Her husband's death seems natural, but his ties to the hunt for the Poet make Bosch dig deep. Arriving at a derelict spot in the California desert where the feds are unearthing bodies, Bosch joins forces with Rachel. Now the two are at odds with the FBI...and squarely in the path of the Poet.
Echo Park (2007 Audie Award Winner for Mystery): In 1995, Marie Gesto disappeared after walking out of a supermarket in Hollywood. Harry Bosch worked the case but couldn't crack it, and the 22-year-old woman never turned up, dead or alive. Now Bosch is in the Open-Unsolved Unit, where he still keeps the Gesto file on his desk, when he gets a call from the DA….
The Overlook: In his first case since he left the LAPD's Open Unsolved Unit for the prestigious Homicide Special squad, Harry Bosch is called out to investigate a murder that may have chilling consequences for national security. A doctor with access to a dangerous radioactive substance is found murdered in the trunk of his car. Retracing his steps, Harry learns that a large quantity of radioactive cesium was stolen shortly before the doctor's death. With the cesium in unknown hands, Harry fears the murder could be part of a terrorist plot to poison a major American city.

Great Collection of books
It is a little odd having them be out of chronological order on though, and the lack of clear book borders in the chapter selection is less the ideal.

Not Bad- Minor Skipping, Some Stories are better
I purchased this because i thought it was a good deal for 3 books. This audiobook has minor skipping - not enough for me to return it but enough for it to be annoying. I also really did not like the music that was added. I enjoyed these stories but not enough to purchase again.

Riveting
I worked out in my yard and garden to exhaustion listening to this riveting trio. His way of intersecting two different stories and meshing them together was great. The wise and savvy Harry Bosch gets his man (or woman) in the end, rubs his superiors the wrong way, and bends the law some to achieve justice. But I do wonder how he is able to operate effectively with so little sleep to maintain investigative velocity. #Audible1

Order of books.
The Harry Bosch series stories are riveting and I’m happy that they have switched narrators and not playing music as much. The thing I was surprised about was that my audio book was in a messed up order with Echo Park playing first and not realized it until the The Narrows started playing and had me questioning what I was hearing.

A great deal!
I really enjoy box sets and this one is no different. Bosch's flawed character is a refreshing take on the "flawed rogue cop" trope we often see. The story is seen through only his eyes and done well. We don't get any details that he doesn't know about and we aren't given any info about other characters except as seen through his eyes. Having three books in a box allows you to return to that world easily. I use my free credits for stuff like this.

Faulty Order and Audio
The books are great, as is the narration, however, just a few disclaimers on the current audible download, and the overall contents.
1. The books are out of sequence. I think it might have been done this way to sort of match the first season of the Amazon series. So "The Narrows" is as chapter stop 41. "The Echo" is the first book in the set. And reading them in order is important. In The Narrows, Harry was still retired, as he was in the prior book, "Lost Light".
2. The sequence of books is missing one, "The Closers", so you will have to get that separately
So to listen properly, if you are following from "Lost Light":
- Start at Chapter 41 and listen to "The Narrows"
- Then listen to the separate audiobook of "The Closers"
- Then go back to chapter 1 and listen to "The Echo"
- Then go to chapter 86 and listen to "The Overlook"
3. There are a lot of audio glitches in the audio file with skips, pops, stammering. It sounds like CD read type errors if you have any experience converting damaged CD audiobooks to a digital file or are ripping in burst mode. I have had a few audible titles with this problem, like Stephen King's Duma Key, and ended up buying the audio CD version to get decent audio. But the audio is so bad in places.
All that said, it is still a great box set and well worth the purchase.

nice collection -- one missing in the order though
this is great to get 3 Harry Bosch books in one. I'm totally hooked on the characters. I am a big fan of crime dramas and I just love Michael Connelly's style and tales. Len Cariou is also my favorite narrator for these series, too. the other narrators are all good, but Len is my fav. :) You really can listen to one book and not have to go with the series as Connelly gives you the insights from previous stories if you missed them and need them for background with the current story. personally, I like going in order. I found the series when I first listened to one of the newest stories, Nine Dragons, and then went back and found the whole series and started from the beginning.
If you're listening to Harry Bosch series in order, there's actually one that comes after the Narrows and before Echo Park called The Closers. If you want to listen in order, then you'll need to get that one and listen to it after the first book in this set.
I really like the set, though. It's economical and great for someone like me who is relatively new the Harry Bosch series and now hooked.

Go for it
Harry Bosch is a very realistic character, a man who doesn't mind to break the rules, if necessary. I liked first and third book in the box set. I struggled w/ the narration of Rachel there. Her voice was somewhat weak, which (at least for me) didn't correspond with her character.
Anyway - 1 credit for 3 excellent books, it's the best value I've got on audible.

Harry Bosch Box Set
After listening to "The Lincoln Lawyer", I looked into more Michael Connelly material and found out about the Harry Bosch series. It was okay, but listening to the Bosch character got a bit tedious, which is something I never experienced with the lawyer, Mickey Haller. Bosch’s “my way or the highway” approach treaded into the realm of fantastic, in the purest sense of the word. Over the course of this box set, the FBI agent, Rachel Walling, morphs into a puppet for Bosch’s shenanigans. If all agents were this weak and easily manipulated, then a career in organized crime would be an attractive option for those just graduating high school. On a final note, “The Overlook” is a shorter novel that has been embedded with interspersed solo music. I am not sure what kind of a wind instrument it is, but it was so awful that I nearly had to stop listening. I had this vision of Squidward playing his flute in the background.

This is one of those great deals from Audible. 3 books for the price of one. So far I have only listened to Echo Park which really hit the spot for me. Great story with great twists and turns. The narrator was also a perfect match for the story.

Terrific Value
3 unabridged novels in one is great, 3 Bosch novels is fantastic. The Narrows alone is worth the credit. It's the conclusion of the The Poet story, only this time Harry Bosch leads the hunt.
A note about Len Cariou, I remembered his work as very dry, but after listening to these 3 books I stand corrected. He was great.

Fun but...
I'm new to the Harry Bosch thing. It's an enjoyable listen with the occaisional cool twist but the whole impulsive cop thing is a huge cliche. Somehow it is never a good idea to call for backup. Why is that? If a deeply evil serial killer has managed to escape twice already, why not shoot him in the leg straight up instead of giving him an opportunity to escape... AGAIN? That aside, there is a wry sense of humour and a great sense of place that gives this series its deserved reputation.

not in order, start with chapter 42
great set of books. I love the narrator. But start in chapter 42, bc that book comes first. then when that's done, go to chapter 1, then the final book.
