Death of a parent. In case you think it’s a light arranged marriage romance and instead end up ugly crying on a Wednesday afternoon… twice!

It started off strong with a unique approach to the arranged marriage trope. I like the way the characters developed over the years through flash backs and written letters and how the present storyline built up their chemistry and added complexity to the relationship. But then the story sort of went rouge, took a random turn and it ended rather abruptly. Especially considering the time and effort that it took for the author to build up plot, the culmination of all that work crumbled into a bizarre, slapped together ending that didn’t seem to fit with the rest of the book. The epilogue tried to tie things together and give closure, but wasn’t successful. In the end I found it very unsatisfying. Spice was a limited 2🌶️. Narration was good.
