Publisher's Summary

In the summer of 1999, Kit and Laura travel to a festival in Cornwall to see a total eclipse of the sun. Kit is an eclipse chaser; Laura has never seen one before. Young and in love, they are certain this will be the first of many they'll share.

But in the hushed moments after the shadow passes, Laura interrupts a man and a woman. She knows that she saw something terrible. The man denies it. It is her word against his.

The victim seems grateful. Months later she turns up on their doorstep like a lonely stray. But as her gratitude takes a twisted turn, Laura begins to wonder - did she trust the wrong person?

Fifteen years later, Kit and Laura married are living under new names and completely off the digital grid: no Facebook, only rudimentary cell phones, not in any directories. But as the truth catches up to them, they realize they can no longer keep the past in the past.

From Erin Kelly, queen of the killer twist, He Said/She Said is a gripping tale of the lies we tell to save ourselves, the truths we cannot admit, and how far we will go to make others believe our side of the story.

You've Got To Be Kidding Me

This book has such an idiotic circular plot and makes absolutely no sense to me at all. The characters are completely impossible to relate to. Four hours to go and I can't stand one more minute of this nonsense. The only mystery for me is why the characters would do anything they have done up until this point. Further, if this is the state of what publishers consider worth while current fiction I give up.

Narration ok but could not finish the book

What disappointed you about He Said/She Said?

It was so boring. DNF at 30%, It was all about eclipses and little else

What was most disappointing about Erin Kelly’s story?

It was boring, I couldn't finish it. I didn't buy it to learn about eclipses. I don't know how it got categorized as a thriller.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Both narrators were okay. The female was better but the male was not bad.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No

Loved it!

What did you love best about He Said/She Said?

To be completely honest, I thought this book had some pretty serious lulls and the beginning was a little confusing to me. BUT I love books that go back and forth in time, so i stuck with it. I am soooo glad I did! Although there were some boring parts to this book and it did seem to drone on a bit, those parts were not wasted, it weaved an interesting and compelling storyline that all came together in the end. Lots of twists here. Don't give up on this book!

Not Good

First few hours were incredibly slow with lots of backstory and very little anticipation or preview of the thriller this is supposed to be. There's a "twist" but it's unbelievable and honestly the story line that should propel the mystery left me with much to be desired. This was my last credit and so I hung in there...wouldn't recommend it unless it's on sale.

Twist and turns.....little white lies

This book takes you in several directions centered around relationships, personalities, perspectives and lies. It hits addiction, rape, anxiety, and power. The twist and turns come and continue to bounce you back and forth.

WHY MAKE A GOOD BOOK REDICULOUS?

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

IF THE AUTHOR DID NOT GO CRAZY MAKING REDICULOUS TWISTS.

What do you think your next listen will be?

NOT THIS AUTHOR.

What does Jonathan Broadbent and Helen Johns bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

THE READING WAS FINE. I ENJOYED THE READER

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

YES UNTIL THE BOOK WAS RUINED AT THE LAST FEW CHAPTERS. IT WAS A CHEAT.

Any additional comments?

LATELY I HAVE BOUGHT A FEW BOOKS THAT WERE CHEATS I AM RETURNING THIS ONE AND DELETING IT FROM MY ITUNES. IT TAKES UP STPACE.

Keeps you guessing until the end

Every time you think you've got it figured out, you haven't. The story really kept me going. Lots of plot twists, but not the "gotcha" kind. It all fit logically and drove the story forward. The characters were multifaceted and the reader cares what happens to them all in the end.

The one sticking point was the narrators. I liked the voice of Kit well enough, but the voice of Laura didn't always ring true. It got to be a bit too intense at some times when the story did not call for it.

On the whole a good "read" and a good thriller. A good distraction on the commute to work.
