Bad narrator

I love Genas books and have many many audible titles of hers. But this narrator just bored me to tears. I could even get into it.

Oh my ears!

Now maybe I'm just spoiled because I listened to the Lords of the Underworld series first and Max Bellmore is one of the best narrators I've ever heard, but Heart of theDragon has terrible narration. I only made it through 35 minutes before I couldn't stand to listen to it anymore. The story is pretty good, I picked the book up at the local bookstore later, and I would recommend the story, but read it instead of listening.
The narrattion was very flat and it was difficult to tell the characters apart, they all sounded so similar. The tone of the narrator was bored, sounding as if she couldn't believe she was reading such "drivel".
I recommend the story, but not the audio.

terrible

OMG!!! This was a very painful book to listen to. The narration was awful. The way she portrayed Darrius made him seem like he was a little slow witted. I couldn't even get into the story for the bad narration. The only reason I started listening to this book is because it was the first in the series and I didn't want to miss any important info about the book I really wanted to listen to, King of The Vampires. Hopefully that narrator is better. It had some pretty good reviews so I'll give it a try. Perhaps reading this book would be better than listening to it.

It's more like porn...

IF I WANTED PORN I WOULD GO TO AN ADULT BOOK STORE!

I love epic fantasy. I enjoy magic and mystery.
I got this book for that reason. I made it through the first two cd's hoping for a change; but all I'm really hearing is sex, lust, and a lot of references to the human body. Don't get me wrong. My libido is as healthy as any woman's and I'm no prude. But I didn't sign up for the x rated language or lurid details of how the main characters turn each other on when I made the decision to buy this book. It's actually "x" enough that I wouldn't want my grand kids to hear it.

I'm not going to bother with the rest of the book.
I couldn't be more disappointed.

Heart of the Dragon

First books in series don’t usually suck me in unless the dialog is more talking less scenery. This book isn’t too bad with that, it was world building but not to the point you’re wishing for the next chapter.
Grace just wants to find her brother but encounters something a lot more dangerous than she ever could have imagined.

I loved how headstrong she was and how she dealt with so much.
I giggled when Darius meets Grace he kind of doesn’t know what to do with her. ;) their back and forth is what kept me interested and how they were circling each other.

The ending was how I was hoping it would go. ;) I might keep up with this series.

I enjoyed the narration. I don’t really have anything profound to say.

Good until Grace spoke

Everything would have been great had Grace not had a Southern accent! She came from new york. I don't recall her being a southern bell.In addition the voice and dialoge as a southern bell made her sound both childish & idiotic. It just ruined the experience for me. Everything else was great and top quality. I listened to part of mine and wont again. I prefer the book.

Beta Test or Bust

The auditory equivalent of reading a paperback romance novel you bought at the drugstore. Definitely not the worst I've read/listened to, but I found myself wanting to know more about the characters and wanting less dramatic accents. However, I really enjoyed the character dynamics and diversity. I think it could be the start of a series of character-focused books, but that's my preference.

Loved this story!

Enjoyed this story!!

I really enjoyed this story, particularly their love story. I liked the heroine as well, which is rare for me (she seemed pretty realistic to me). Anyway, my one complaint about this is the narration. It wasn't the worst I've ever heard but it was pretty bad at times. There were some male voices that the narrator made sound like a little girl for some reason. The inflections and such were on par but the actual voices used were pretty distracting. I'm still glad that I listened to this, though.
