Story
A talented songwriter, Shawn Gallagher spends his days lost in reverie and wonder, oblivious to the wiles of women and the ways of the world. He claims that he’s content with his life, but his music tells a different story - one of loneliness and desperate longing… No one understands why Shawn doesn’t put his musical gift to profitable use - least of all Brenna O’Toole, a fiercely independent tomboy who has been secretly in love with him for years.

The narrator is terrible
The story is great but man the narrator was terrible. Her male american accent is so brutal and monotone. Out of the trilogy this one was hard to get through. Her Irish accents are great but I actually started. To hate the male lead becuase of the tone of his voice.

Heart of the Sea
Would you consider the audio edition of Heart of the Sea to be better than the print version?
I did not read the print version but I would assume so.. listening to a story about the Irish with someone reading it with the Irish accent adds to the story.
Any additional comments?
I was sad when the series was over, I loved listening to Irish having Irish background my self. Feeling like old friends who are now gone .

Bad reader
This reader is so bad I didn't think I could finish it. The reader is atrocious. Stilted speaking, spaced out ever word, breathing stops in the middle of a sentence that breaks it apart incorrectly so that you almost miss that the rest of the sentence pertained to the earlier part. That kind of disruption ruins the story having to go back and make sense of it.
I don't understand how producers or directors don't fix these while being produced. In fact, I had to return the book because I can't listen to this ever again.

Number one fan of Nora Roberts!
I not only liked this book it’s my favorite of all three. I have read (heard) since I am hearing it for the fifth time and will listen again in a few months time. Darcy is my favorite character since book one. I have told everyone who will listen to me about these books. Though these three are running neck to neck with the McGreger series.

Painful to listen to
I have been a Nora Roberts fan for many years. I love her trilogies, especially the ones with magic. The story is good and predictable, yes, but still enjoyable. But the NARRATION is painful. Does the publisher not vet these people? She is one of the worst narrators I have ever heard and basically ruins the enjoyment of listening to this. I am powering through because I want to finish the trilogy but seriously, she is pathetic. Doesn't understand emotion, punctuation nor the difference between men's and women's voices. I am a former teacher of professional speaking and have been on stage, in the pulpit, and a member of the National Speaker's Assn, so I know about voice and performance. Trust me, this person should never, EVER do another voice-over or book narration!

My favorite of the trilogy!
This was, by far, my favorite of the three books, though all were good. It's likely in part because by now the characters were fully developed in my mind.
Another story well told!
