Publisher's Summary

Twelve-year-old Michael Arroyo lives in the shadows of Yankee Stadium, home of his heroes, but a place that might as well be on a different continent since he can't afford to see the inside. He also lives in the shadows of his Bronx neighborhood, hiding from the bill collectors and the officials who would separate him from his 17-year-old brother if they knew the two boys were living on their own. Baseball is Michael's only salvation, along with his dream of playing in the Little League World Series, until a rival accuses Michael of being older than the league limit. With no parents and a birth certificate that is stuck in his native Cuba, the shadows in Michael's life grow darker. But that is when heroes emerge, and for Michael, heroes don't come any bigger than the Yankees.

Heat

I loved this book, the most memorable moment was how Micheal fell in love with Ellie, and the narrator is really good. I actually paid attention to the book itself.

Great baseball read

Though the book was predictable, I found it very enjoyable. I recommend it for anyone who loves baseball.

THIS WAS THE BEST BOOK EVER!

I liked the plot and how it ends. This book was so good I read it in 1 day. Even thought the book says it 6 hrs. Long it feels like 1 hour! I totally recommend.

I Can Only Wish

We did not have teachers to help our children learn from Audible books like this. I'm so proud my daughter went into teaching and useses your books to help her student learn . I just read this book and will keep donating to her class for your books.

Great Story!

This was a fun read for my upcoming 6th grader. It was very age appropriate and the narrator made it very easy to understand with the different accents.

Very Entertaining

This was a book I had to read in school but never got to finish. It's cool to me because I am Cuban myself, and hearing a book with a Cuban main character was awesome.

Great sports story

The book showed my 11yr old son the hardships of immigrating and it launched several conversations about why a family would flee Cuba. The characters were real and dynamic. The narrator did a great job with the pace, the voices, and the fluid blend of Spanish and English. We don't speak much Spanish, but we were never lost.

Heat will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Well written, well read story with enough twists and turns to be almost impossible to turn off. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
